I am young independent professional woman and I've thought about artificial insemination and adoption. I also have a hard time with relationships but I'm interested in having a baby in the next 5 - 8 years. I think it is a growing trend.
As long as I could financially support myself and a baby, I would seriously consider it. However, I would also make sure I could provide a good stable environment for proper emotional and mental development of my child.

I wouldn't. However, I'm very traditional. As has been mentioned, it is hard enough for a mother to care for herself post delivery with an attentive, loving husband, let alone doing it by herself. I wouldn't want to do this alone. Yet, if it weren't for the grace and blessings of God, I wouldn't even be married now, let alone a month away from our first baby.
Also, what about when the child asks about his father? Do you really want to tell him that he was conceived in a sterile medical room with a syringe and an anonymous man's sperm and not out of the love and commitment and beauty of marriage?
Even with adoption, you have the option of knowing at least the birth mother of the child and keeping in contact with her, so that the baby can at least have more of a sense of history, both biologically and heritage.
For my husband and me, if one of us become sterile in the future, even if we don't, we'll still adopt. There are already many children out there who aren't wanted by their biological parents who would love a loving home.

I'm married and was pregnant last year. During my pregnancy, I had a lot of arguments with my husband about how to raise our son. My husband and I would love to raise our son the way we want to, but my mother-in-law keeps telling us what to do and how to raise our baby. My husband is a person who would never disrespect any elders nor talk back to them even if they're wrong. This is how the arguments started. Anyways, I tried leaving him while I was pregnant and told him that I was going to raise our baby by myself. However, in the back of my mind, I was scared. This was my first pregnancy and I didn't know what to do. I was scared that I had to drive myself to the hospital and have this baby by myself. I was scared on how I was going to raise this baby and work full-time. Thankfully everything worked out and I'm still with my husband. Now, our son is 10 months old. By experience, it's really hard to take care of a newborn and take care of yourself. After you have a baby, you need to give your baby 100% of your time. You won't even have time to cook, clean or take a shower.

If I wanted a child (which I don't) and had enough money and mental stability to support the child (which I don't!), I would definitely have a baby by myself. Not everyone needs a man in their life to make a family for themselves, and support for single mothers who have chosen this route is growing every day.

I would for sure. As long as you can support the baby, then I don't see why having a baby by yourself would be a problem, except for the lack of help with nighttime feedings and diaper changes, ect. Every parent deserves a break.

I would.
It would be my choices to make with them, so i would get to raise them the way i think they should be.
That sounds like a good thing to do.
good luck on making the right choice for you! =)
