I'm 38 wks 3 days and i am 70% efaced and dilated to a 3. my doc. said by the end of the week for sure, but i don't seem to be making any progress. is it possible to strip ones membranes or is that something that should be left for the doctor to do?

i had asked earlier about my strep results and one girl said that she had it and all they did was hook penicillin into her iv......i know im not helping by stressing so much but IF i have it and i need antibiotics....can they use something other than penicillin becuase im allergic to it lol they know im allergic to it, but please tell me there is an alternative!

I had an ultrasound a week ago and they said I was 19 wks and 6 days. Previous to that the doc told me I was a little over 20 wks. Now I know the ultrasound is supposed to tell you the exact age but I'm confused. As of today I'm 20 wks and 5 days... I husband and I tried to get pregnant April 11th and we only tried that one time. So if I got pregnant around that time should I not be about 4 mths and about 2 wks?? According to the ultrasound I'm now 5 mths. I'm confused...does this sound righ??

If a guy ejaculates on the back of a girl near the top and middle of her butt cheeks, is it possible the sperm could travel inside and have her possibly be pregnant? It might have also gotten on her pants and underwear, which she wore that night. Any help out there?

His mother believes baby showers is a girl thing, shouldn't be co-ed, and shouldn't be thrown more than once for one baby. My fiance trusts his mothers knowledge so sides with her and claims its their tradition. I on the other had am different. I want a co-ed so my guy family and friends, brothers can be involved regardless of sex. I consider my pregnancy a celebration not a tradition. So, I want it one way and she sounds upset making it difficult for me and him to see eye to eye. We got into a huge fight yesterday and he also wants to not be involved anymore since his mom feels he shouldn't.

Hello! I am 8 weeks pregnant and we have had a kitten for about four months. I've never had a cat before in my life so I know I am not immune to Toxoplasmosis. Anyway, my husband has been changing the kitty litter and we don't let the cat outside, so he hasn't ate a bird or mouse or anything. I just have read that there are really any symptoms for the disease and wanted you guys all just to reassure me that everything will be fine. ;o) Thanks!

im 41 weeks pregnant and im gonna be induced today or techinally friday at midnight...are there anything u suggest that i bring to the hospital or things i should eat before i got there? anything that i should know let me know because i get to go to the hospital calmly and ruitined with no rush...tell me anything thats useful...plz and thank you

I am not in pain whatosever, just finding really hard to breathe.
Does it mean anything ? (labour approaching?), shall I worry?
They last for about 3-4 minutes and come every 5 minutes.

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and VERY sick. Sore throat, low grade fever and lethargic. The only thing I am taking is Tylenol for fever. Can anyone recommend something for sore throats that is safe to take during pregnancy?

it should be about 8 weeks now, Ive taken home pregnancy test that came up positive. At the health dept. a few days ago, it came up negative. I havent had a period since june 23. I think i need a blood pregnancy test.

I am 16 weeks pregnant and i work a night shift as a residential aide for mentally handy caped residents. One of our residents has to be woken up to use the bathroom every 2 hours and he can be very stubborn some times and just drop his weight. i know lifting heavy things is bad but at 3 in the am and trying to prevent an accident sometimes i do help...but every night it seems i get more tired and tired no matter how much i sleep the day before anyone in a situation like this and maybe some possable solutions to the issue. I dont want to fall asleep at work but it seems that is all i want to do before i was pregnant is was not a problem for me....any coment is appreciated

stats:
- she had her baby 2 days ago
- no epidural
- she was in labor for only 7 hours (labor - from the time her first real contractions started at home till she delivered)
- she only pushed for 20 minutes
- it was her first baby
- she walked on the tredmill for one hour daily, and in the summer she swam for one hour daily (if weather permitted)

so do u think that's why she had such an easy labor? Does that beg to say that sedentary pregnant women can have longer labors?

I am 16 weeks - First Time MOM : ) but i have already grown a cup and 1/2 i am now in a 38 D from a 36 C. They are not as tender as before but seem to keep growing. Is is also normal for only being 16 weeks to have a clearish discharge comming out of my nipples if i lightley squeeze them?...

Well the past 2 - 3 days i've had slight pain in the pelvic and lower stomach area (sometimes upper legs) and it feels like gas pains......well i did have some gas but it still wont go away...i've had a couple contractions that were actually stronger yesterday.........what does this mean??

I'm feeling like i did when i was pregnant and i want to take a test to make sure if i'm or not. My period isn't due till Aug 29-31. My cycle was always 26days but had a miscarriage in June and it went from 26 to 27 or 28 days. The last two periods i got were normal for me and now i'm feeling tired more, heartburn and abdominal pain sort of like i'm getting my period but it isn't due for another week. I don't want to get my hopes up so i would like to take the test.

Apparently hospitals used to put an 'F' or 'M' or a symbol on the top line of a scan photo to indicate if they think baby is male or female, for their records.
I have an F on mine and just wondered if they still do this and if that means they think its a girl?!

i'm 38 weeks pregnant with my third child. my first two were induced early so i have never gone into labor naturally, and therefore never experienced some of these symptoms. I'm Nausious and have diarrhea. i had "false labor" for a while (I havent' had many contractions since lastnight) right now i'm dilated to a 3 and 70% efaced as of two days ago. what i really want to know is if i'm in labor or will be soon. and if so, how long?
