my first son had the hiccups constantly! it was so annoying when I was trying to sleep!!! it's just spasms in his little diaphram getting him ready to breathe and cry and laugh. won't hurt him. enjoy it while he's still in there! you miss him when he's outta there.

My little girl got hiccups all the time in utero. She sucks on her hands/fist/fingers quite a bit. I was a thumb sucker as a child and would get hiccups in utero for my mother as well.
Your little one is perfectly normal.

Hiccups are completely normal for a baby to get while in the uterus. And doctors still don't know exactly why babies get the hiccups inside the womb. Also, it won't hurt your baby.

it's totally normal -- i just felt my babies first hiccups yesterday!! i'm 31 weeks. i've been wondering what causes it too, but no it can't hurt your baby at all. it's perfectly normal. it's also a good sign that their lungs are developing normally.
in what to expect when expecting they talk about those cute little spasmic hiccups. you can look it up on their website for more information or if you have the book i think it's in month 6 or 7.
congrats!

It is completely normal for babies to have hiccups in the uterus. When I was pregnant my baby had hiccups morning noon and night. I wouldn't worry about it.

Is this the first you have been feeling them? Yes, very normal. Hiccups are a spasm of the diaphram. It won't hurt him.

I hated that! My whole stomach bounced. My doc told me it was normal and it wasnt hurting anything (besides my increasing my urge to pee). Mine did it around 2 times a day. But it never hurts to just run it by your doc at your next appt.
