LEAVE THAT TO THE DOCTOR MY DEAR!

If you are not too uncomfortable, and your membranes are still intact, try having a little sex with your hubby. The prostaglandins in the sperm can trigger the cervix to dialate, and the hormones that are released during your orgasm are the same hormones that start contractions.

seriously? theres no way you should EVERRRRRRRRRR attempt to do something like that yourself! besides, you couldnt get the right angle. what happens if you do something to hurt yourself or the baby. you're almost there. its the longest week and a half of your life, but you've gone through 38 1/2 so far. why risk it? and just because you're effaced and dilated that much doesnt mean you'll g by the end of the week. i was 2 cm dilated 80% effaced for about 2 weeks before my son was born. no one can tell you when it'll happen, not even a dr. and the dr will only strip the membranes if you're overdue or theres a risk to you or the baby. gestation is 40 weeks for a reason. if your baby needs that long to fully develop their lungs, then let them be.

Do you even know what is involved in stripping the membranes. It is a procedure that is best done by your Gyno. You do not want to risk infection.

Its nice to see Im not the only one in a hurry to get my pregnancy over! Only a doctor can do it, they need that view, if you know what I mean. ha!ha! You are so close that I doubt you will make it much longer, Im sure you'll be holding your baby within a few days! Congrats!!!

Yes. But please leave it to the doc, as it is painful and hard to reach properly with the big ole baby belly.
Edit to add this. You can also risk infection if you do it yourself. There are also many things that could go wrong.
