I have heard that it is customary to give a gift to your partner after the birth of a child. What do you think a good gift would be? And what dollar amount would be appropriate? I'm thinking a nice necklace would be good, but i wanted to get other opinions. For the wives out there, what did you get (if anything)?

So I just got married and the talk of kids has come up for months now. I feel totally ready. I'm 26, have my masters, and a stable job. My husband is 32, stable job and has his bachelors. We've been together for nine years and own our home. He says he wants kids too, but not now because he doesn't feel financially secure. We do have debt, but it is manageable and we're not living paycheck to paycheck, we have some savings. I asked him where he felt we should be before he is comfortable and I was shocked at his answer! I told him realistically to be that financially secure would take us 5 years and I am not interested in waiting that long. His response to that was we'll see and he gave me the impression he didnt want to talk about it anymore. So, after all that my question is whether I should just leave this alone or try and talk with him about it further? I don't want to be a nag, but not even trying until we're 31 and 36 troubles me, especially if we have trouble conceiving!

I have two small boys and two step sons and we recently sold ALLLLLLL of our baby things, thinking we were done....Well surprise im 7 weeks pregnant HAHAHA crazy huh.....is it wrong to buy everything second hand? Like things in nice condition? I hate to start all over buying everything brand new...but i know someone that has some things for sale, cheaper then buying them new, and i want to know if thats a bad idea? She has clothes, a crib, brand new mattress, swing, and bouncer? Is this wrong to do?!?!? I kind of feel bad for not buying anything new, but then again why they just grow out of them anyways lol........What would you do???

Do you think that 21 is too young to have a baby? I turn 21 this month. Me and my fiance have decided to try and conceive. We are financially stable, I have always wanted kids, and I raised my niece and nephew when I was still in high school so I know the full time reponsibility of raising a baby. My mom is mad at me though and said that I am too young. I dont want to have a baby when I am older I want to be young enough to enjoy all of life with my baby. What do you think? Thanks.

I've had breast implants for over 3 years now. My surgery was done through the nipple and under the muscle. I have been breastfeeding for almost 6 months now, and have had absolutley no problems. I'm wanting to know if anyone else has breastfed with implants cause i would like to know what your breast look like afterwards? I'm curious because my breast are now shaped way different than before because when my milk comes in its in front of the implant. Its not odd looking but different. Anyone else expeirence this?

serious answers only please.

In general, I mean a well-behaved 7-year-old girl. I'm making a comic, and she's the daughter of the main character, but what the hell do I know about seven year olds? I can't remember when I was seven all that well. And I don't regularly hang around them, since I'm in high school, and none of my friends have brothers and sisters that young, and even if they did, they'd really only describe them as bratty.

So, how do the 7-year-olds you know act?

i'm not another stereotype i'm a teen mother .i graduated high school last year with honors.I'm now enrolled in college .I had a baby at a early age but i'm sick of people giving EVERY teen mom a brand of being unintelligent ,poor, sluty, and having low self esteem i'm not any of the above nor are the teen moms i attend play group with. my child is very intelligent and well rounded my boyfriend and i both have great paying job's.I'm so sick of everyone being disrespectful to young mom's.Yes i belive some have no buissnes even being around a baby but i have met some of the most involved parents in my play group that are teens.if you agree with this statement please repost and tell everyone your opinion if you do not agree well thats your problem.

I have 2 kids, girl and a boy. My kids both took my great grandmother's middle and last name as part of their names. My daughter took Elizabeth as her middle name and my son got great grandmother's last name,Christian, as his first name. And this is my 3rd and final child and it's a girl. A few days ago I asked my mother, like I've done with everyone else around me, if she had any name suggestions. She told me she doesn't care what I use as a first name but she wants me to use her first name, Anita, as the middle name. At the time I said something to the effect of "yeah..ok...alright..." But I don't like the name, never have, and don't wish to use it. The thing about choosing a name is the combination and how it sounds together as a whole. I thought about having 2 middle names, but don't think it is necessary? Should I just tell her that this is my last child and I already used family names from her grandmother and I'd like to come up with a full name myself? Would that be rude?
