I was on the shot all through out college and I never had a cycle. There are good things about it and bad things about it. I personally thought it was great because I did not have to worry about getting a period. I will tell you that I put on some weight with it and I had a hard time getting a period after I went off it.

If you have concerns I would talk to your Doc about it. He will have all the anwers you could want.

Good Luck!!

when I was on the birth control shot called depro-provera I did not have cycles. I took the shot for one year then I stopped, and it took another year for my cycles to start back (which was a total of two years with out cycles) Then I went back on some time later for six months (in total that was another year without cycles) In addition to not having cycles I gained weight which i believe it was because of the depro shot I few of my friends also had weight gain

I took the shot for awhile but didn't like it. I had a cycle, but I also spotted a lot. It seemed like I was always having my period. I went back to the pill and I'm always regular now.

I have been on depo for about 5 years now. I do not have a cycle, but occasionally (like once a year) I will have some spotting. Of course, every body is different...

If you are referring to the "Depo", I believe that usually women do stop having a cycle. I think someone told me that it sort of puts you in state of menopause. But I am sure that there is always the exception.
