You can only get pregnant during your ovulation time which last about three days and is usually 10 to 14 days before your period starts. If you had sex while on your period, chances are you are not pregnant. The spotting could just be the ending of your period and since he didn't pull out, discharge from that. Don't have unprotected sex at any time.

Wouldn't have it been a good idea to find this out BEFORE you had sex? sheeshhhh. Anytime you have sex there is a CHANCE of pregnancy. And spotting, perfectly normal. I would suggest you go to the doctor/clinic, get a pregnancy test AND get some birth control. You know, there is absolutely NO reason for a pregnancy to occur if we don't want children. Birth control fails in such a small percentage but NO birth control at all can almost guarantee an unwanted or at the very least unplanned pregnancy. If you're old enough to have sex well then you're old enough to be responsible about it. Sorry for the lecture, didn't intend to go off, but c'mon, it's the 21st century...not the 1950s!

Take a test and find out.

to reply to someone's answer from another question...
"and to the guy that posted first and too "too funny" if your going to be jerks then don't bother posting i was in her situation once and that's the last thing she needs too hear is two close minded people that don't even say anything intelligent.and the person at the top if your saying shes unintelligent because shes having baby's at 16 then obviously your the one that's unintelligent."

Lindsay P, calling me out, huh? Well, here's what I have to say in reply...
A 16 year old having kids, is most likely to not finish school, have a **** job (if she has one at all), and rely on family (or better yet, foodstamps and welfare!) to help raise the kids. Do your homework kid, look up the facts on teen pregancy. I'm closeminded? One of my relatives did exactly what I've said above, and those kids are in worse shape then their parents were at that age. But no, sixteen years old is the PERFECT age to have a kid...when you can't even wait to graduate from high school first.
Who's unintelligent?

There have been many cases of women getting pregnant during their period...I know this first hand.

I've heard that it can be caused because some women ovulate more than once a month. This is also why some women can get pregnant while on the pill, they are ovulating while they are taking the sugar pills.

I have no link at the moment to support this, but I will say that it is very VERY possible to get pregnant while on your period!!!

a woman's frequent cycle lasts approx 28 days. Day one million is the 1st day of your classes, and so on. Ovulation, once you are able to fall pregnant, is between day 12 and sixteen, so approx 2 weeks from the 1st day of your classes. Sperm purely survives for an afternoon or so interior you, so via having unprotected intercourse in the time of your classes, there is amazingly little risk of falling pregnant. purely pay attention around days 12-sixteen......

You "spotted" while on your period? I would think it would be highly unlikely to get pregnant on your period, IF your periods have been regular. BUT anything is always possible. My suggestion is to use protection no matter what!

there is no time when you are not able to get pregnant. even on your period there is a risk. so the reson you started spotting is well maybe cos youre on your period.
if you want to be sure wait a couple of weeks or so and take the test.

you had sex ! period or not, of course you could be pregnant. it would be best not to put it off 4 2 long. whether you plan 2 keep it{prenatal care} or not{abort before signifigant development} you can't change the choices youve made, but you can start making a change in the choices you make 2day

You can technically ALWAYS get pregnant from unprotected sex. It's not likely considering you were on your period but it is definitely possible.

It is very unlikely to get pregnant while on your period, but if you don't want to have a baby you should use protection every time even on your period.
