Is it rude to ask someone that you are not close with if she is planning on having children?

Is it rude to ask someone that you are not close with if she is planning on having MORE children?

I don't ask someone unless we are close friends. I had a bad experience where I asked a recently married co-worker about her having a child one day and she said that she couldn't have any. I felt horrible for bringing it up. But to be fair she asked me first and I just asked her the same question.

It doesn't bug me when people ask me if I plan to have children because I do, but if I found out I couldn't have kids then I might be hurt if someone asked me about it.

What do you think?

I have no desire whatsoever to become a Mum. I'm 25 and I have a long term b/friend. I'm mature for my age and I've never been in the slightest bit maternal. It drives me mental how many people, upon finding out that I don't want children, say "Oh, you'll change your mind one day!" - it is patronising and offensive. I know my own mind and don't want kids in my life.

I think a lot of women 'want' children because that is what they have been brought up to feel they need to make their lives complete - perfect husband, perfect kids, perfect house. I have made a concerted decision, based on my lifestyle preferences, not to have kids. I've thought it through and I'm very happy to be childfree. In fact, I've probably thought harder about NOT having kids than a lot of people think about having them. I have no problem about people who want to and do have kids, I'm very happy for them so why can't they extend the same courtesy to me?

How do you all feel about women who don't want children?

As a woman who parented her first child at 17, I am asking from a point of expierence and true interest/concern? How many of you had no idea what really lay ahead? How many of you thought it was all a big game where you got to decorate, shop, pick names and eat up all the attention, good or bad and then were smacked in the face when reality of the responsibilities set in? I think if more of us spoke up honestly some of these poor girls asking RIDICULOUS questions may think twice the next time they want to have sex.

Were you and your mother pregnant at the same time? Was it by the same person? Who got the most gifts at the baby showers? Just curious.

I'm just curious how other people think on this subject since I already know how I want to raise my son. He is mixed race and we live in a very diverse community. As far as we can see there will be nothing new to him and questions will be handled truthfully and respectfully. I want to raise him not to see or judge people according to their race or ethnicity but by how they treat others.

I am due to have a baby girl in the next two months and my 6 year old son is having trouble adjusting to the changes. We have tried to make him a apart of things and have discussed how he can help mummy with his baby sister. He thinks we are having another baby cause we no longer love him. Does anyone have any suggestions that will help me to help him adjust? No stupid answers either please I do not tolerate people making fun of my son or my family.

When I was about 13 I had to start taking birth control pills to regulate my period. I stopped taking them about 1 year and a half - 2 years ago trying to get pregnant, but nothing happened. I am now 19 yrs. old, and in July, I took birth control for about 2 or 3 weeks, and then stopped. I have only had a period once since then, and it was a very heavy flow that lasted for about a week. I haven't had a period since June, (except for a little spotting here and there) therefore I have no idea when I am ovulating. I have taken probably 7 or 8 pregnancy tests that were all negative. My financee and I desperatley want a child. I have had my annual exam this year, and I am free of infections and diseases, and my gynocologist says there's no reason I can't conceive. So how so I get pregnant?

Ok here is my same question for a second time, I had my period a week early for this month and it was irregular because it lasted for 6 days( I never go pass 3 days). Now here it is 10/12/06 and I have started to spot again, then when I was at work today I started feeling really sick to my stomach. I ended up having to vomit, but even after that I still felt sick. Can a woman with children please tell me could I still be pregnant? And if so could I still take an E.P.T or a First response? Or should I get a blood test?

I am 37 wks and as of yesterday I am 1cm dilated 90% effaced, soft and up-close. The doc. said since I progressed so much from my last appointment a week ago it could be very soon. Today I have been on the run alot and didnt have much time to rest and I walked alot! I started having contractions..nothing bad, but I just had a really strong!!!! pain in my lower stomach. It started at my belly button and like it rolled down to my pelvic area. I have never felt a pain that strong before. Now my vagina is hurting. Was that a contraction? it only lasted for about 5 sec. and now my lower left side has a dull pain..near the lower left ovarie i would say. My husband has to get up early in the morning and I dont want to go to the hospital unless its bad so he can sleep. Has anyone else experienced this? Is that a contraction, is my cervix dilating because vagina is hurting so much now? I know your not doc. but some experience and advice will be appreciated! Thanks for all your help!
