When I was about 13 I had to start taking birth control pills to regulate my period. I stopped taking them about 1 year and a half - 2 years ago trying to get pregnant, but nothing happened. I am now 19 yrs. old, and in July, I took birth control for about 2 or 3 weeks, and then stopped. I have only had a period once since then, and it was a very heavy flow that lasted for about a week. I haven't had a period since June, (except for a little spotting here and there) therefore I have no idea when I am ovulating. I have taken probably 7 or 8 pregnancy tests that were all negative. My financee and I desperatley want a child. I have had my annual exam this year, and I am free of infections and diseases, and my gynocologist says there's no reason I can't conceive. So how so I get pregnant?

Your cycle sounds disastrous, almost like mine!
Have a chat to your Gynae about fertility drugs. You should also be tested to see if you are in fact ovulating - this could be your problem! Definately have it checked again hun, this could be something so minor which can easily be resolved. Good luck xx

Maybe you should wait until your body is finished developing before trying to have a baby. Since you are only 19 you haven't even finished puberty even though you probably think you have. Wait at least 5 years your body is still adjusting to adulthood. Also, at 19 why throw your life away for a baby?? Wait 'til your older with less potential (that's if I'm correct in assuming you are not bothering to get a proper education) then you can even become a stay at home mom. Haha!

Why not go to post secondary school and make something out of yourself? Have you given up so early?

Maybe there isn't anything wrong with you, but what about your fiancee?

Anyways, the best thing to do is wait. No need to stress yourself. Your time will come and seriously no rush. Questions to ask yourself, are you and your fiancee financially stable? Are you both ready for a child? Why not wait until AFTER you two are married to actually worry about conceiving. Once you've settled your own personal life and have prepared for the future, then you should start thinking about having a baby.

My friend had the same problem and she ended up having to give herself some kind of shot that would make her have a period every month. Than she got pregnant about 6 months later. Talk to your doctor and have blood tests done to make sure that your hormones aren't out of wack. Also have them test for diabetes and things like that- that can affect getting pregnant as well.

Maybe it just isn't your time to have a child yet. Sometimes what we want and what we need are two different things and God is graceful enough to give us what we need so that when we get what we want we are ready. Use this as an opportunity to make a real commitment to each other in holy matrimony and make your home a warm, stable place for that little soul.

Ask your doc to check your hormone levels. You could have ovulation failure due to prolonged usage of the bc pill. If there are any imbalances then that would be it! I did this and started hormone therapy to ovulate. Within three months without any effort I got pregnant! Good luck and baby dust!

If your doctor says everything seems fine-then maybe you just need to go with the flow. Otherwise you may need fertility treatments and maybe even eventually invetro...But at 19 I highly doubt you could afford any of it.

You are 19 years old...Why do you want a baby? Well, whatever floats your boat. Go see a fertility doctor.
