I'm not fond of D.G., but DE isnt that bad. If they really do like the name, please dont ruin their happiness of finding a name they like by telling them you dont. We didnt tell a soul our choice because we didnt want to open ourselves up to negativity. If you wait until after you give birth they really can only say nice things (at least, if they are your friend!)

Daphney Elizabeth sounds fine. Then again it depends how it sounds with the last name.

Daphne - is usually spelled this way, which I prefer. I like Elizabeth. Gene - spelled like this - is a man's name. The female way is Jean or Jeanne. Once you see the your friend's baby, and how cute she is, you will love the name, because you will associate it with her.

I always thought Gene was a male name????
The Daphne + y is ok, though it's going to be murder teaching the child to spell her own name!

Wouldn't be my first choice but not that bad. I would stick with Daphne or Elizabeth but I don't think they flow well together. Daphne Grace would sound nice if she is open to suggestions.

The way to spell it is Daphne - and Gene is a boy's name - Jean would be a girl's. Like them all.
