I let both my kids sleep n swing all they wanted. Sometimes for hours. Why ruin a good thing? They're sleeping, your happy.
BTW both my kids (4,15mo) go to be by themselves and do not have to be rocked.
Every cgild is different!

As with anything, in moderation, it's not harmful and it is certainly much more comfortable for them while they are ill. Make sure you get your baby back into a normal sleep routine after he's feeling better and it won't be an issue. I've gone through this cycle with two kids now and it certainly hasn't done either of them any harm and it saved me alot of grief.
Where the issue lies is with people who ALWAYS let their kids sleep in a carseat or swing. The baby's musculature doesn't develop correctly if that's the only place they ever sleep. A few nights or naps while they are ill isn't the end of the world though.

I'd be careful with the swing if I were you. It can become a sort of crutch for your child. I know it's hard to take them out when sleeping, but look at how uncomfortable he/she is...
Even if you prop them all around it still isn't right to sleep like that for too long. I'd say 20 minutes tops. The bummer is if he/she gets too used to going to sleep in the swing, They'll depend on the rocking or swinging motion to go to sleep for a long time. It will be hard to break.
I'm sure you'll do the best you know how...
Good luck! !

It's clearly working for him and making him feel better if it soothes him when he is sick. As long as he does not meet the weight limit, it's ok to keep him in it until he lets you know he's had enough.

No, are you kidding???
If that's what soothes him go for it. I went crazy with my first one because she had really really bad colic and nothing worked... My sanity suffered soo much I would go outside and scream. The thing is give yourself a chance to relax too, having a baby is an exhausting experience.

The swing works great especially if he is congested. He'll let you know when he's had enough. I wouldn't leave him in there all day, but a few hours while he's sick won't hurt him either.

Let him swing to his heart's content mommy! But when he starts trying to crawl out or pulling at the frame then it's time to move on to new things... lol
