Can anyone tell me please, if I can give my 11 month old baby- squid, octopus, cockles, mussels, clams, prawns or scallops etc. I know they are not suppose to have swordfish or marlin, because they may contain small amounts of mercury. We live in UK & have no family history of any fish allergy.

Tuna, sardines, cod, trout, salmon, I've been told are ok. No bone, skin etc & mashed down to a fine smooth paste. But I want to try her with more variety. I'm not giving her other meat, just seafood- for ethical reasons. She has plenty of dairy etc, so protein content is not a concern.

My baby is 4 months old and I haven't given her anything but breastmilk. She eats every 2 hours and has always had extremely watery bowel movements. Yesterday, my in laws kept her for about 4 hours and said she never whimpered. When they brought her back to me, she wouldn't eat and all evening she was a pill. Finally, she has had a bowel movement and it is a much thicker consistency than I have ever seen before. Do you think she may have been feed something yesterday?

My LO is about 11 months now. He is always ecstatic to see the cats; but they don't feel the same way about him.. They still run away from him and don't let him pet them. I feel bad for my little guy as his face lights up upon seeing the cats, but they look at him with such inferiority. I just wish the cats knew that I still love them and would never replace them. They don't even let me pet them now I feel like I don't even know them anymore.. I don't know.. Any suggestions?

My son use to wake up every two hours to eat and fall right to sleep, but ever since Sunday night he'll only sleep for an hour, wake up eat, and stay up for an hour straight then fall asleep for another hour and repeat the same cycle all day long and all night. I've tried feeding him more, but he just spits it up and I've tried to keep him up during the day so he'll be sleepy at night, but he still stays awake after eating for an hour and sleeps for an hour and is right back up wanting to eat.

Is it proper/wise or unwise/improper for a "mother" to breast feed a baby that did not come from her womb?
Is it wise or unwise for a "mother" to BF a baby who was IMPLANTED into her, does whether or not the baby is from her OVA(or part of her OVA) or not have a play in the answer to this?

Is there a COMPLETE "SYNTHETIC FLUID" that is available that can be given to babies in place of BREAST MILK? Is it tested? Is it safe?

What TOTAL PLANT BASED "formulas" for babies are available on today's market? Or if nothing is available now, what outlook for the future is there for something in this dept.?

Dr. thinks that my 4 week old son has reflux. He doesn't spit up all that often but he seems to be crying a lot after drinking his formula. I tried to give him more formula thinking he is still hungry but that doesn't work. Dr. wants to give him Zantac. I think that giving him meds should be a last resort. Does anyone have any suggestions for a different formula. He is now taking Similac Advance. Should I try soy formula?

My daughter is only 3 and a half months old , but she goes to sleep by 10:30 pm and is wakes up around 6. She has been doing this for the last month. She does NOT wake up more hungry than normal. She is not underweight nor overweight. She does NOT get cereal or anything else, she is only on formula. Is this normal? Is this healthy? Am i over reacting or should i just be grateful that i have such a good sleeping child?

Ok my mom who is very country fed my 10 month old some butter beans (large limas) last night. The baby woke up at 3am this morning vomiting profusely. After settling her down with a warm bottle and fresh clothes, she went to sleep. This morning she had a bottle with breakfast. At lunch, I gave her a bottle and she threw everything up.
We waited awhile and fed her, gav her water and ginger ale, then fed her again. Now she threw up again what looks like most of the food we have given her since this aftrnoon!

Im not sure if this is due to the beans, or if she is just sick. I will take her to the doctor tomorrow if this does not stop.

Please help, what can we do until then????

I found a phrase on a baby announcement that I would like to change to work for a baby shower invitation (for a girl).

The phrase is:
The pitter patter
of little feet
Have made our
lives complete!

I still want to use the first two lines "The pitter patter of little feet" but want to change the last two so it would work for a baby shower invitation!!!

Any ideas? Thanks!

I had my second child on july 2 and she was in the hospital for the first 2 weeks b/c of breathing problems but she is now home. we had been giving her the same formula they were giving her in the hospital but she has started having realllly bad gas that hurts her. I have tried 3 different types of formulas and 4 different types of bottles/nipples as well as Mylacon drops and nothing seems to be helping. She doesnt spit up at all after her meals and she burps just fine but this gas has been getting more and more painful for her. I'm taking her to the doctor of friday but until then any suggestions?? Enfamil, Similac, Goodstart, soy and milk based.... none seem to be helping much..... if you happen to have some advice or home remedy to help ease her gas pain, PLEASE tell me b/c it breaks my heart everytime she cries from being in pain and I don't know how to help it. (I have a toddler as well but she never had gas like this...) Thanks so much for any suggestions!
