Contrary to popular believe pacifier's are not bad for the baby, let her have it.

I don't know how old the baby is, but I don't see any problem with this. Especially, if the baby is under 2 yrs.old. I know that doctors, now, tell you that they should be able to go to sleep without any props, such as a nuk or rocking them. But I think a baby needs to feel that security. I raised three children, who are all adults, now, and they are well adjusted. The best part of the day for me was at bedtime, when I could cradle them and sing to them and rock them to sleep. They slept all night through. I think that was because they were content. as long as they are fed, changed and content, they'll sleep well.

Wait until she is a year old, then get rid of the nuk (permanently, trash), after a few days (nights) of her screaming she will stop. Stop the holding all night and get some rest for both of you.

It sort of depends on her age, but I'd do it one thing at a time. Take the nuk away first then work on the going to sleep by herself.

She needs to feel secure as she drops of to sleep. that is why she cries until she gets her nuk or picked up. she will eventually outgrow the need for the nuk & holding. just hang in there.

How old is your baby? Give her the pacifier, it's how she comforts herself. They are not bad for babies. Believe me, in the long run the binky habit is easier to break than holding her to sleep.

Pacifier's help prevent SIDS so don't worry about that. If your child is younger than 5 months, keep holding her. If she is older, consider Ferber Method.

Depending on her age, let her scream it out for awhile. If she is only a few months old, indulge her a little, but when she's fed, changed, and it's a comfortable temperature in the room, put on some soothing music and let her cry for awhile. Give it 15 minutes or so, go back into the room and rub her back or something, but leave her in the crib. Then leave again for 20 min, etc. I know it will be tough, but if you keep giving in, it will never fix the problem.

A pacifier isn't bad to give her at this point. The sucking motion is soothing for her.

It's hard, but you need to stop running to baby every time she cries. My youngest would only sleep in his pram for the 1st months.I would rock the pram until he went off to sleep, then tip toe away to do my chores.
Nothing wrong with pacifier's either.
I left the radio or tv on quietly too, so there was always white noise in the background.

For now give her the pacifier and worry about breaking her from it later on
