They wont like him for many years to come. As soon as he gets his hands on them he will pull their fur or tails (not to purposely hurt them), and he is loud, once he gets a little older he is going to torment them!

Honey, cats are funny creatures. I have always said that they are the perfect pet to have around children because the children have to learn certain things before they are allowed the privilidge of petting them! Dogs will let a child pull their ears and yank on their tail and stick their little stickly fingers in their mouths so that they can get a hold of their tongue! Not so with cats! Children have to be old enough to have learned to play nice. When the kitties feel that your little one will not hurt them, when they feel safe with him, they will want to play with him.
In the meantime you can hold the cats and let the baby pet them, take his little hand and stroke the cats fur and say "nice kitty", this will be good for both the baby and the cats. They will each learn that the other is not dangerous.
When baby is ready the cats will know. Think of it this way, this is better than if the cats just loved him and he ended up getting scratched because he wanted to figure out how to get their eyes out! Cats are not hesitant to punish bad behavior.
My cats (all three of them) took turns sleeping with the babies. They made friends very soon.
Be patient sweetie, it will work out.
Love and Blessings

Babies love cats. They are fuzzy and move. Simple pleasures. Cats on the other hand aren't used to the amount of unwanted attention and therefore seem to repel anyone or anything to do cat things like sleep or bathe or eat. It just takes a little getting used to for both the babies and the cats. Get one of the fur-real friends at Toy's R Us or Walmart. It responds to voice and play and feels and moves like a real cat. Taking the babies attention on the toy would give the cat's a little space thus bringing their ecstatic presence back into your family. I had the same problem with my 2 year old niece. They will get used to it. Besides babies like fun toys and this is the way to do it.

Even with pets, you can't force a relationship. Get him his own cat when he's at least 6 years old. He's probably too rough with the cat and the cat probably steers clear so as to hot hurt the baby as a defense if the baby gets rough. Smart cat actually.

Get rid of them and get a dog. Sorry, can you tell I'm not really a cat person. Cats are just like that, and certainly don't take kindly to bubbly babies. The cats always loved my brother even as a baby. He had such a gentle nature to him they were drawn to him. He'd lay there in his sleep, they'd snuggle up and he'd stroke them as he slept....Oddest thing I've ever seen.

Your doing the right thing. Lots of love and attention will have them come around. Cats get very jealous. Have you tried petting the cats with your babies hand? Sucky them up and tell them how good they are.

as quickly as I had my 2nd daughter, we've been staying with my boyfriend's Dad and he had a cat.. The cat grow to be high quality whilst the toddler grow to be first born yet whilst my daughter grow that enables you to flow slowly, she grew to grow to be very fascinated interior the cat and sure, some cases the cat did scratch her. The cat even scratched her whilst she have been given older (around 2 yrs previous) and it nonetheless scratched her.. yea, it grow to be on the arms yet she had scratch marks up and down the two certainly one of her arms.. no longer very surprisingly. i might basically get a cat in case you get it declawed. And basically a woman by using fact male cats are frequently those that scratch, and plus men will spray. I additionally want to function (for the persons who're saying he/she could be high quality in the event that they did get scratched) that the toddler isn't high quality if he/she gets scratched interior the attention (that's extremely probable at that age by using fact the toddler would be crawling and the cat will objective in the direction of the face by using fact they'll probable be on the comparable eye point (or close) if an entire grown cat). additionally cats do scratch hard and that i'm particular that having an excellent scratch on your toddler's face would not look to large. they might reason numerous bleeding and probable reason a scar. additionally, in the event that they get scratched undesirable it would desire to burn for a whilst and if its no longer stored clean it would desire to probable get contaminated.

I turly think, although you might not want to hear this, but you might have to give your cats away. Watch your baby carefully, because the cats might be very jealous. You say cats, how many do you have? I know you love your animals, but your baby is first. If you can keep one cat and train it. Cats can be trained.

Your baby is probably too aggressive for them. And they probably don't like the loud crying either. Give them more undivided attention, when your baby is not in the same room. Give them more attention each day and hopefully they will accept your baby.
