Ok my mom who is very country fed my 10 month old some butter beans (large limas) last night. The baby woke up at 3am this morning vomiting profusely. After settling her down with a warm bottle and fresh clothes, she went to sleep. This morning she had a bottle with breakfast. At lunch, I gave her a bottle and she threw everything up.
We waited awhile and fed her, gav her water and ginger ale, then fed her again. Now she threw up again what looks like most of the food we have given her since this aftrnoon!

Im not sure if this is due to the beans, or if she is just sick. I will take her to the doctor tomorrow if this does not stop.

Please help, what can we do until then????

Lima beans are not that "natural." Infact, lima beans can have an alergic reaction. They are one type of beans that are listed when children have soy allergy (allergic to milk and peanuts which is why whole milk and peanuts are not good to introduce at this age) aren't the best type of bean to introduce to a baby. Her stomach is probably upset and needs to settle. It could be a stomach flu as well.Giver her pedialite and make an appointment with the doctor.

Give her liquids. No food, and keep the liquids light to the tune of water, some gatorade (my doctor told us when our daughter was 4 months old with the flu), and apple juice with pedialite. Don't worry about feeding her - she isn't going to starve by not eating.

I would also call a nurse or on-call doctor. If it is an allergic reaction to the beans (very possible), she will need to be seen right away. It sounds like the flu, but I would call just to be sure. And then follow up with a visit to your doctor.

Good luck!

Stop feeding her. Let the tummy relax and recover from eating the beans, which just might have been too much for her system. If she's not exhibiting other signs of illness ( temperature, lethargy, fussiness, etc.), I'd let her body to the work. When she's ready, try a couple of dry crackers or toast to see if she can tolerate this. Continuing to feed her before she's gotten this stuff out of her system will only make her throw up more..
Hope she's feeling better!!

I would venture to say that it isn't the beans. They are very natural and unless she has had other food allergies they are probably just fine for her. It could be a variety of reasons that she is vomitting. The main thing here is to keep her hydrated. They can get dehydrated so quickly when they are this young. Hang in there I'm sure it will pass. If she spikes a fever is when I would be concerned.

Call the hospital and talk to the advice nurse. You should probably take the kid to the doctor now. A ten month old can't explain much, but vomiting up everything it eats tells you enough to get a professional opinion stat!

As she has alread voided the beans and an additional 2 meals. Sounds like she has a stomach virus. Be sure she doesn't dehydrate from the lose of fluids , Pedi-lyte or similar infant approved electrolyte supplement until you get her to the doctor.

Do you have any pedialite? Thats the best thing. My doc told me to just give my daughter a few tablespoons at a time every 20-30 minutes till the vommiting stops. Then only liquids for 24 hours, then really easy to digest stuff.

I would give her some pedialyte in her bottle till she see's the doc tomorrow, sounds like she may just have a stomach flu. When my kids were little all of them ate regular food at that age and were fine, and still are.

My little ones caught a 'trojan horse' 2 months in the past, and that's making the rounds, around the rustic, in accordance to out-of-city relatives... that they had no temp., yet vomited, quite a few cases, for 12 - 36 hours. (My infant vomited thrice, and became finished.) the main important worry, of direction, became dehydration, so I made specific they drank lots of beverages, and a nurse stated to not provide them solids till they did not vomit for 4 hours. (yet to maintain giving beverages.) that's fantastically contagious, if that's an identical element... stable success! perhaps the record would have yet another answer.

No more foodand no more formula until the vomitting stops. Give her pedialyte -this will replace the fluids she is losing.Take her to the pediatrician if not better tomorrow.
