If i pump every 4-5 hrs i am getting enough milk. I want him to drink directly. As soon as i take him next to the breast he started crying like anything. I am trying to nurse him everytime i feed him. He refuses me. what should i do? I know he got used up with the bottle. He doesn't want to work hard. what is the best way i can nurse him with no crying? Please suggest me. Thanks in advance.

He feeds, sleeps and craps well enough but my wife is worried that he is not putting on much weight. He was born 10 days ago, 2 weeks late and weighing 4.1kg and now is 3.8kg, what will happen if he does gain weight quickly enough?

I am wondering if any other moms don't mind if their baby wakes up to eat, have a change, or snuggle in the night... I actually look forward to him waking, I like to see him scoot towards me and start pulling on my shirt, or waking up so he can snuggle in for a cuddle. But the main question everyone asks me when the first see my baby is "Is he sleeping through yet??" as if it is a very important thing. (he's 6 months, breastfed, and co-sleeps)

Is it important for the baby's development, or is it more based on the parents getting a night of uninterrupted sleep?

Do you mind if your child doesn't sleep through?

And, how long exactly is it considered sleeping through? Four hours? Six? Shorter, longer? Just curious, thanks for looking.

Thinking about getting one as it works out cheaper having the car seat included in the price. Unsure as the safeness of baby being in car seat for long periods of time.

I'm going to look after a friends baby for 2 weeks in the summer. Him and his wife will be out and about on holiday etc. so during the typical 9-5, I will look after the baby, who, is about a year an a half.
I was wondering, is there any kind of course I should take? or just basic books I could maybe take a look at?
I've babysat before, for babies, toddlers and much older, and I'm going to take a first aid course specially for infants. But I'm still concerned.
Are there any other courses that I should take quickly? Or does anyone know of any books that would be useful and beneficial?
Thanks for your help :)

I should be thankful but my 3 week baby does very minimal crying. He is healthy, but doesn't crying help with a newborn's muscles, or reflexes.?

I have a baby boy who is 4 days old. He always seems to cry even when nothing is wrong with him. We try everything and the only thing he wants is to be carried or have some type of body contact. He's fine while in our arms and as soon as we put him down he starts crying. I haven't gotten any sleep and I'm trying to recover from a c-section. I'm completely drained. How can I get him to stop crying all the time. Any tips?

I am having chronic peptic ulcer disease and Doctor has given me Aciphex and Tylenol #3. I am avoiding to feed my 61/2 months old daughter. But she is not ready to eat formula with bottle, juicy cup and etc. I have tried with everything. But she eats formula when I mix it with cereals.
She needs breastmilk in the night and if I don't give her she cries badly. So I feed her once at night. I just want to know that how harmful are the drugs for my baby, because I fed her 4 times after taking those medicines.

I'm curious, I am a biologist and mom and an avid breastfeeder. There are still a lot of moms who formula-feed their babies and I was wondering why? I am curious if the doctor and the hospital didn't tell you about the difference between formula and breastmilk or the dramatic deficits in formulas? Do you think its more work (which I can categorically dispel)? Is it too big a sacrifice not to drink etc? I don't want rants from other breastfeeders, we all know that breast is best. I just don't understand why anyone would choose to formula-feed and would like to. We should support each other as women and understanding is the first step to that.

Hi All,

I am 25 weeks pregnant and about ready to start shopping for my little girl. We are trying to decide what to buy. A crib or a play n pack. We will be going through a transition with moving so we will have a small place. We will have room for a crib or pack n play but they will both need to be in our room. Can a new born sleep in a pack n play. Which one do you suggest i buy? Any good places i should shop for quality items for a cheap price.

Thank for your response. =)

My daughter is about five months old. She seems to wake and eat frequently at night. My husband says that I shoudl stop breastfeeding and start giving her formula so she will start to sleep through the night. He thinks this will help because our son who was formula fed slept through the nigh by three months. I was wondering if me breastfeeding was really keepingher from getting more hours at a time or if we just have different babies. I understand that my babies are different but is it her personality or the milk that causes her to hae so many night feedings? Thank you!

A relative traveled to an undeveloped country in SE Asia. He got his vaccinations, but we are concerned that he should wait a week before seeing us as to not pass anything virulent along.

I have a 7 month old baby who has never slept through the night. She is generally a happy baby, and she has a great temperament, but she never sleeps for more than one hour at night. At first I thought she might be hungry, so I make sure she has had a good helping of baby food or cereal just before bed time, but she still wakes up screaming every hour or so and only nursing will calm her. She is teething, so I tried Tylenol, which bought me two hours. I need HELP, I am a working mother, and I am trying to function on roughly three hours of sleep, which is not easy.

Everyone decided on what they were going to give her months ago (she is only 5 months pregnant, lol) so the big stuff is done... high chair, play yard, travel system, bedding and baby swing..... so I need ideas. I want it to be something useful not some sort of novelty item. I would like to stay under $100 as well. Any good ideas?

I have a 3 month old and we have settled into a pretty good routine. She falls asleep around 8:30 pm and sleeps for 7-9 hours. I was wondering about drinking a glass of wine at night... what if she wakes up at 1:30 am on any give night. And what if I drank two glasses? What is the general rule about time needed before feeding? (I have a freezer supply, so I can always pull from that if needed.)
