I have a baby boy who is 4 days old. He always seems to cry even when nothing is wrong with him. We try everything and the only thing he wants is to be carried or have some type of body contact. He's fine while in our arms and as soon as we put him down he starts crying. I haven't gotten any sleep and I'm trying to recover from a c-section. I'm completely drained. How can I get him to stop crying all the time. Any tips?

Try swaddling him, babies love to be tight in blankets, if you have any baby books you can find out how in there or google it. Try it, my baby loved to be swaddled.

My best friends were the snuggli carrier, and the swing. the vibrating bouncy seat came in as a close second the the other two. The gentle rocking motions of the swing are similar to the feeling the baby gets walking around with you.

Also, NO guilt in asking for help. Any family or friends who want to hold your adorable baby? GREAT, call'm up and tell them to come over for an hour. Show them where the baby supplies are and then go to bed and get some sleep. People love babies and they like to think they are helping mom too.

you have a clingy baby. i was where you are. completely drained. awful. wish i had some tips it gets easier by like 3 months. they start getting interested in the world and less clingy. my 4 1/2 month old , lily, is napping in my arms now. like always. my 2 yr old is up my butt napping on the couch. dad needs to swaddle baby, put a pacifier in his mouth, the babies mouth, lol. and bounce and walk, or stand next to the washing machine. mine liked the hair dryer. you need to go lay down. trust me , i understand. about 2 1/2 more months. about 60-70 days. it will be better. i also put my baby in the crook of my arm and layed down and nursed. this kept her quiet. if your afraid you will hurt him, stay in a room where husband is so he can keep an eye on you. this saved my sanity and made my daughter a great sleeper. good luck

Hold him, let him sleep with you, Get Dad to carry him in a sling (http://www.mayawrap.com these are awesome!). He sounds normal just like a snuggly baby.

Try to sleep when he sleeps, play a heartbeat tape, soft music and relax as much as possible.

I know it doesn't seem like it but these days will pass quickly. You can do it!

JUST REMEMBER HE DOESNT CRY FOR NO REASON
Some babies need more comfort than others, is there someone else who can help you out, it does get easier my son was the same and all i could do was hold him and comfort him, its tough being out here in the wide world after being so comfy and safe inside his mum, give him the chance to adapt, it will get better

are you sure he's ok he is not pulling his legs up like he has cramps or anything is he? he's all fed and dry and stuff like that right? ok then, you will have to let him cry it out, its gonna be tough .. i used to turn on the vacuum cleaner so i couldn't hear the kid and it eventually lulled the baby to sleep. the worse thing to do is to tip toe and make a house be quiet the baby has to be able to adjust to the house not the other way around. check this out :

Welcome to motherhood!! Try proping up on a pillow and still holding him. I did this for while with my daughter til she got too heavy. Maybe hes jaudence or has colic. When you go to your one week exam ask the doctor what it could be...congratulations on your new bundle of joy!
