To start it you are just pulling them off of formula or the breast, don't just rush in with straight milk.. Their tummys can't handle it right off, so what I did was mixed it. Half and half works good. Like half formula and half milk and heat the milk up a little unless your child likes cold drinks. After a month you should be able to go to straight milk and be fine.

When my son was 12 months, he had 3 8oz sippy cups of milk each day.

8 ounce bottles or sippys which ever you use , a couple times a day

As much as they want!

When they no longer feel the need to drink they will stop.

They need milk at their age!

That will depend on your child's specific nutritional needs, and her/his appetite (for ounces).

that is something you will need to discuss w/your child's pediatrician. your baby's doc will tell you based on your child's growth...etc.
