Baby shoes, which ones are good for a 1 year old who just started walking?
by himself but still holds our hands pretty often. i heard i should get soft shoes, but are the stride rite soft enough, until now he had the robeez booties for when he walked on our hand.
please help, how soft do they have to be??? those i saw are not as soft as the robeez, but still softer than firm ones, but not so bendable .

thanks

the answers to some of peoples questions. Like when to start solids? What formula to use? Everyone always just says do what your doctor says. Does everyone really ask their doctor about all these things. I personally read about the pros and cons of these things like starting solids between 4 and 6 months and decide on my own if my baby is ready. I know about the tongue thrust reflex and all that and i try it if it doesnt' work i try later. One doctor tells you one thing and another tells you something else. I tell my doctor what we are doing now and make my own decisions by weighing the info myself. Is this so wrong. Should i call my doctor before i go for a walk and see if it's okay.

I'm exclusively formula feeding my 4 week old son. Even from the hospital, he was eating almost twice as much as other newborns. Now he's taking 3~5 oz of formula every 1 1/2 hr ~ 3 hrs. This is way more than what the normal feeding schedule should be for his age. Is this okay? (His birthweight was 8lbs 14oz, and his 2 wk weight was 10lbs 12oz)

Lol, I know they say sleep when baby sleeps, but I have insomnia and can't fall asleep in under an hour. My boyfriend's going to school full time, it's a 40 min commute at 7 am, so I have to do the night time feedings as well as the mornings and afternoon. He also gets impatient with her after a while because she doesn't just want changed or to eat anymore, she wants attention and to play. She's 6 weeks old and needs the stimulation, but he doesn't get that yet. So how do I cope w/ lack of sleep? I can't sleep in the evenings because that's when I have to do laundry and cook and clean. Did I mention that we're in the process of moving? And that he wants me to find a job? Lol, I must be getting a bit cranky :D Or does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to fall asleep fast but not stay asleep if the baby wakes up? Thanks!

Well I'm a nursing mom, and I love nothing more than to be able to bond so well while you breastfeed your baby. I really wish it could never end, but eventually it has to end. And now that she's getting bigger (4months) I need to get her use to bottle feeding. But do you have any ideas on how to get her to latch to a bottle, she just doesnt want it. I try and try and she would rather have mommy than a bottle. If you have any ideas please feel free and let me know. Thanks

its about that time for me to go back to work. it just saddens me to think of having to leave my little man with a bunch of strangers. there are alot of daycare centers around here and i'm not sure of how to choose one. they all seem the same to me. what things about the center you chose made you feel like you chose the right place for your little one?

My son is on isomil advance and he has a bowl movement once a day and its usually after he eats. When he has his bowl movement though he throws up his food from pushing so hard. I was wondering if this has happen to anyone else? He gets it out ok but at first its kinda hard. I know they say give them water but he knows what water is and gags!

I have a daughter, who is 5 months old. I am trying to decide when to get pregnant again. I have a few thoughts.
1. I am nursing, so I worry about the effects on both my daughter and the growing baby. There are arguments on both sides, so it is just confusing.
2. I want my daughter to have time with my husband and myself, and to learn the rules and ropes of the house before I am distracted with another little one. But, I also don't want the kids to be too far apart. But what if they are too close, and competitive? I feel like either way, I will just do what needs to be done. I just want it to be the best for our family.

It is hard because it will be 10 months from whenever I do get pregnant, so, I am trying to see what other families have experienced, so I can learn from you! Thanks!!

she's just 4 months old and i just can't wait until she finally grows up and be herself. it just such a slow process that everybody have to take. but the good thing about it is... cherish each moments.

When I was pregnant, I had blue cheese even though it's reccommended that you don't and I had crab, shrimp and lobster! I just went with my instincts instead of following EVERY SINGLE rule anyone ever thought up.

And I took him in the shower with me when his umbilical cord healed, so he was REALLY new and I have taken showers with him ever since instead of baths. He LOVES the shower. AND I used regular soap on him, regular shampoo, none of that baby stuff, never washed any of his new toys or bottles or clothing before giving it to him, and I use regular detergent to wash his clothes and not his own special baby detergent! Should I be reported to CPS or are there lots of good mothers out there who just went with what felt right with some situations instead of ALLL the silly little things that are most of the time not neccessary?

What rules have you broken?

I know that I am probably being a paranoid mother but my five month old baby just started shaking his head back and forth (almost like he is saying "no"). He has been doing it more often and I am just worried. He doesn't seem to distressed. Do you think this could be a problem? I hate to call the dr. over every little thing that I think may be wrong, but I just worry about my baby. Has anyone elses baby done something like this?
