It sounds like the stomach virus that has been passing from city to city across this great nation. My son caught that 2 months ago. He ran a fever and had severe diarrhea. I gave him Pedialyte in little doses to keep him hydrated. Only like an ounce or two at a time. I called my doctor's office the first night it happened and they told me not to bring him in, that it was the virus that was going around. Your doctor's office or health clinic should know what is going around in your area.
I spoke with my doctor's nurse and she advised me to do the Pedialyte only. You have to starve this darn virus out of their system. The children will be starving because they are only drinking liquid. Their diarrhea will continue and will be nothing but water eventually. Mine son's was green because I gave him Grape flavored (purple) Pedialyte.
I continued that for 4 days, nothing but Pedialyte.
Finally, I gradually added milk back to his diet. As long as it didn't come up, I'd feed him a few ounces every hour to an hour and a half.
The key is not to introduce milk back into their diet too soon. The virus stays alive on the food.
It's a horrible experience and very scary to see your little one so miserable. I also went through this virus when my son was 3 weeks old last May. I continued to breastfeed him and he didn't catch it at that time.
I suggest that you call a clinic or doctor's office and speak to a nurse about what is going on in your community. The nurses are a great resource to you.
I'm not saying that your children have this stomach virus because I don't know their medical history. But, if they do, you can see what I did to get my baby through it.
It is a lot of sleepless nights.

Since your babies are 3 mo it is unlikely that they are teething yet, however low grade fevers, and diarrhea are symptoms that go along with teething. It is always totally up to you on bring your child to the doctor of not, but here are some cardinal rules that you need to follow should you choose to not bring them it. By all means wait it out a day or two before rushing to the doctor's office, but should you notice less wet diapers stop avoiding the dr. Also remember with diarrhea there is a lot of water loss which can also cause dehydration. Dehydration with children that age is a VERY SERIOUS thing and should be monitored for. If you can try giving pedia lyte for a while to help with the upset stomach. Milk can cause more diarrhea and GI discomfort when sick so try pedia lyte to keep your kids hydrated, also give small amounts at a time to avoid them quickly throwing up. By small amounts I mean 1 tsp every 10-15 min. I know this seem impossible to do, but you may find that this keeps them from throwing up and also keeps them hydrated. For the fevers: try alternating between tylenol and motrin to help keep the fevers down, but if you notice a sudden change in temp or a temp that lasts longer than 2-3 days, bring your child to the dr. One more thing, having twins means it's very difficult to prevent cross contamination so try and avoid sharing between the two and make anti-bacterial wipes you best friend. Do your best to keep the toys they are playing with clean and try and keep them from sharing too much for now. Maybe these steps will help you move in the right direction and make you feel a little better.
sincerly, a pediatric nurse

It's tough having little babies and no health insurance. Normally I would say you need to pay a visit to the pediatrician, or at least the local doc-in-a-box.
A low grade fever can be treated with Children's Tylenol (or whatever equivalent). Babies get fevers quite often and after minimal treatment they can go away just as quickly as they come.Start the Tylenol following the directions. Bathing them in a "coolish" bath, and lying a cool washcloth on the chest helps, too. There's an old "rule" -- Feed a cold, starve a fever.....this is because when a fever is present, normal food (and especially milk products) will "curdle" on the stomach, causing vomiting or diarrhea. Hunger is a good sign. They should be given clear liquids, such as chicken broth, fruit juice and water in their bottles until the fever subsides.
I hope this helps. I used this method with my own son on numerous occasions. He's now 25 and has his own 1 month old.
I know what it does to your heart when your babies are sick. I'm a mom. I still get that same feeling when he's sick or hurting.

Have they already had there two months shots? And have they had the Rotovirus vaccine? These are given free at any health clinic to children under the age of one?
My two year old had the same problem at about 7 weeks old. The er doctor told me that all I could do because he was so young was to keep him wiped down with a damp cloth and to give him Tylenol. And as far as the feeding goes I know this sound tiring because you have twins but i had to give him 9ml of milk every 15 min and it seemed to work and after the he held down the first two ounces of milk I was told to alternate it with water. I did this for almost nine hours but it worked. I wish you the best and hope that the babies do get better but you do need to consult some kind of doctor. I know what it is like to not have insurance and need to see someone but honey these are your babies and look at it this way as long as you owe the hospital they will never go broke. Again I wish you and your family good health in the days to come.

TAKE THEM TO THE ER NOW!!!!! In babies a fever can jump greatly in a short period of time. A fever with diarrhea and vomiting can get very serious quickly because they dehydrate quickly. From your description I'd venture that your son is dehydrated all ready. I don't mean to frighten you but what may be nothing could be real serious real quick. If not you have the peace of mind and that's worth a whole bunch. NOW GET OFF THE NET AND GO TO THE ER.

I think I would take them in, because you don't want to risk it. Since they can't hold anything down, they could become dehydrated quickly between then diarreah and the throwing up.
And if you can't afford insurance, have you looked into medicaid? There's nothing shameful about it, especially if it enables you to take care of your children properly. Not to make it sound like you aren't now, I'm sure you are, you obviously worry about them. I have medicaid for my son, and I know I wouldn't be able to afford all of his well-child visits without help, let alone his sick visits!
Good luck and I hope everything turns out well for your babies!

#1. there has to be free or low cost health care in your state. If you need help looking for it tell me where you live and i will find the info for you. you have twin babies, you really need to see what is out there for you as far as health coverage, babies and children get sick a LOTand you will need it.
since they are so little and have fevers and are not eating i would definitely recommend them being seen by a doctor. its one thing if they are a year old but these are small infants . i really wouldnt mess around with fevers.. they will work out a payment plan if need be, but i wouldnt want to not take them, and be wrong about it later, kwim???????

Are you a parent? Are you old enough to be a parent? I mean look at your question, your twins are sick, can't hold any food down, fevers, inactive, and seem weak. HELLO take them to the ER right away, something is wrong with them. They are 3 months old, by now you should of thought about some kind of insurance to cover health care, or if you can't afford to take care of them, then get help somewhere. Be a resonsible parent and get them to the ER. Who cares if its nothing, take them anyways, they are obviously not eating and well could be dehyrated.
