If you both are up for it...go for it!!! There are no set rules.

If your friend is up for it! Go right ahead. Shower etiquette says only one shower(drat) and that shower's shouldn't be held by family, but should be held by a friend.
I had a shower with my first..my mom thru it, it was huge and i got everything. This time around I don't need anything, so I don't want the huge shindig...but if my friends were to get together and throw a mini shower, i would love it.
Relax, who cares. Most people i know have a shower for every single kid.
Good luck and congrats on the new bebe!
God bless you for having FOUR! OMG! FOUR! I fret sometimes at the thought of having the second one around, lol. Good for you!

First off CONGRATS!
It really depends on afew thing's.
My sister has 3 boy's..only 2 baby shower's.

It depend's on the gender(if you have all girls and are expecting a boy..then YES & vice versa)...age difference (if you had a baby recently..then NO) and need factor's.
If you DON'T need anything for the baby (other than the basics..diapers,onsies,bottles etc) then rather than having a baby shower why not have a girls day out for lunch and if they want to bring afew small gift's that would be fine.
Congrats again!!

It's not selfish, especially if your friends are throwing it for you. I was given one for each of my three children. Typically, it's wise to keep baby items if you are planning on having more children, such as the crib, bouncer, high chair, etc. You shouldn't need anything new as far as the large stuff. I kept all my large baby items until my third child. For his baby shower, I didn't need anything really except clothes. It's not selfish. Every time you have a child it's wonderful to have family help you out a little. There's always something you'll need, even if it's just diapers!

I believe that it depends on how far apart your children are, or if it was a hard pregnancy. If the last child you had and the current one you are pregnant with are many years apart (I would say over 5 years) than a baby shower would be OK. A baby shower is also OK if the pregnancy was tough (ie: serious health problems, problems with the child) as the shower would be more of a celebration of a healthy child rather than a celebration of gifts.

You're really only supposed to have a baby shower for your first. You're also only supposed to have a bridal shower for your first wedding. But as others have pointed out, no one follows the rules anymore.

I feel that every child is special and should be showered with love. Everyone has different beliefs and people will always talk...let your friend give you a baby shower for your bundle of joy.

if your friends are throwing it its okay but otherwise i personally think its considered snobby to have one for every child because you can reuse the stuff that cannot be used by the previous child.

a baby shower is a celebration for your coming baby so it really doesn't matter if your pregnant with your 10th baby you still can have a baby shower

Perfectly normal .. others do it, why not you. Plus you'll be glad you had one when you see all the gifts and the money you'll be saving .. Go for it !!!
