Newborn & Baby - February 2007

I am trying to get my 11 month old into a routine and also trying to get her to sleep through the night. Some people have told me that at that age, they wake up at 3am/4am for a feed / cuddle because it is nice for them but they don't actually need it. But she still has a whole bottle at that time. We give her enough dinner (at least we think so) and when she goes to sleep she has a whole bottle. What must I do?

My daughter is almost 5 months old & I still wrap her up when putting her to bed. At what age do you stop doing this? I've tried during the day to put her to bed without wrapping her & she just screams, but as soon as I wrap her, she's sound asleep within 5 minutes. How do I go about changing her bedtime routine? Is it too soon to worry about not wrapping her yet?

My sweet little baby has a bad ear infection and a cough. I feel so helpless. It makes me want to cry because I know he is in pain. He's on medication but I still feel so helpless. Don't you feel helpless when you're baby is sick?

Even though he is sick, he still gives me my morning grin every morning when I go to pick him up out of his crib...Aren't they just the most beautiful and most precious things in the world!!??!!

My 3 month old is very chesty, he has had it since birth and i have been to the doctor on numerous occasions. The doctor keeps telling me that its just mucus and it will find its way out basically. He also keeps prescribing saline nasal drops as he also feels it could just be a blocked nose, i've used these but to no avail. Over the last couple of days, my son has seemed to become even more chesty ( i personally do not think its just a nose blockage as when i put my ear to my sons chest it sounds like that). He is having trouble sleeping for long periods of time and is now also having trouble finishing his bottle. I'm making another appointment with my doctor today but their not open for another hour so just wondered if anyone else had had this with their child???

I have an almost sixth month old and my neighbor has a three month old. I am a SAHM and she will be returning to work in a few weeks. Her daycare center fell through and she is looking for another option. I am a former teacher and nanny and was planning on trying childcare for one or two children when my son turned one (or close to it). Has anyone done this? Pros / cons in your opinion?

My baby is now 2.5 wks old and she is always smiling and sleeping while she does this. U can see the whites of her eyes. Its scary to look at and tonight I just noticed a lumb on the rt frontal part of her head just b4 her hairl line starts. Do I over react and call the doctor again. When I was was in labor it took the midwife a few minutes to get ready. The baby was ready and I had begun to push when they told me to wait b cause they were not ready yet. I am so full of questions I feel like something is wrong with my baby girl but the doctors are missing it.
