Rub a little baby oil on baby's scalp - but keep clear of forehead and eyes since it could sting Use a mild baby shampoo at bath time and rinse well. Don't worry, it goes away.

When my daughter had cradle cap, I massaged baby oil into her scalp and left it on for about half an hour. Then I took a baby comb (not a brush, the bristles are too soft) and combed over the scales, gently scraping them away. She didn't cry or anything, I was being gentle so I could scrape away the scales and not hurt her scalp. After that she had a lot of loose flakes in her hair but I just washed them out with baby shampoo. I only had to do it once, I was really amazed.

I used 2 give my child a bath and wash his hair then I would apply baby oil otherwise u can try this........
How to treat Cradle Cap (Craddle Cap) with David's Lavender Balm (or Hypo-Allergenic face & Body Balm
Cradle cap (also called seborrheic dermatitis) is a common and unpleasant looking build up of crusts and scales on a babies scalp. Use our Lavender Balm or our (Hypo Allergenic Face and Body balm if your baby has allergies) and apply to the scalp massaging gently into the crusted areas for a minute or two. Apply enough to leave the area looking oily. Leave on during the day and then at bath time use your favourite baby shampoo to wash the balm and softened scales from the hair. Johnson's No More Tears formula is good to mention one.
Apply the shampoo to the DRY scalp where your applied the balm and gently massage into the dry scalp. This loosens the scales and dissolves the balm. Then add enough water to the hair to work up a nice lather and massage the babies scalp with firm fingertip pressure to loosen the scales but not to pull them off. The right pressure is just a little bit less than the baby finds uncomfortable. You can tell by their face if you are massaging too hard. Then wash the shampoo out of the hair
After drying baby use a fine tooth comb to remove any loose scales from the hair. When the hair and scalp are dry apply more balm (enough to leave the hair and scaly scalp looking oily) then repeat the treatment daily. Treatment will take several days to a week to remove the cradle cap completely. To prevent cradle cap returning use the firm scalp massage when shampooing babies hair at least once every second day or even daily. For sebhoehic Dermatitis on babies body (do not to this to the face or scalp) simply apply the balm twice a day. Then use a tar based bathoil like Ego "Flare-up" oil on a wet face washer in the bath to just wash those areas of the body affected. Dermaveen oatmeal baby bath is good too. Once the skin on the body has returned to normal, use a good bathoil or Dermaveen Baby bath to mention a couple of good products commonly available.

Are you letting the baby oil sit on his head for 10 minutes before combing it/washing it? Oh and maybe instead of a comb try a soft bristled baby brush. My son is 4.5 months old and still has it a little bit, thats the remedy I have been following. But really, if it isnt bothering your son, the docs just say to leave it be and it will go away on its own. You could also try olive oil if the baby oil isnt doing it, I have never tried it but have read about it. Also the drug stores and target sell products specifically for cradle cap in there baby section. Good luck!

Both my children had it. I got a cradle cap brush(really soft, fat plastic bristles -could only find one at CVS this time around) and would brush in cirlces several times a day and also in the tub. You don't have to use the brush only when hair is wet. I think that it works better on dry hair, but that could be because I can see it falling off easier with dry hair. Good luck.
I tried that baby oil thing with my oldest. Never worked for me. It just camoflauged it and I couldn't see it, but it was still there.

My granddaughter is 2 months old and has a severe case of cradle cap. The advice is T-gel or head and shoulder shampoo, be careful not to get into her eyes. When finished rub 1% hydrocortisone cream on scalp , it should clear up within a week. Her pediatrician gave me this advice and it does work.
Let me know.

My daughter's pediatrician told her to use Aveeno baby lotion.
She puts it on after the baby's bath and I haven't noticed a problem with flaking scalp or rough spots on the baby's skin.

Put olive oil on his head..let it soak in overnight, then use the soft brush given to you at the hospital and a nice warm bath. Then moisturize his head and use the brush every bath.

Put lotion on his scalp and comb it out with a baby comb. To prevent this from happening again, use baby oil on his head BEFORE washing his hair.
No CC- No greasy hair.
