i know there not all the most obvious places of dry skin but im sure it is because its red and bumpy and feels scaly. it doesnt seem to bother him, but its very very cold where we live and i dont want it to get worse. the baby lotions are not doing ANYTHING ive used them night and day. is there anything else i can use for a young toddler? i use vaseline on his cheeks and chin but im not sure i should slick the kid up with vaseline. are there any other severe dry skin lotion i could use that would clear it up?

He's really eating, not just nibbling, you can hear him taking mouthfuls of milk. Obviously Iam producing enough milk, he nurses actively for about 10-15 minutes... then just nibbles for another 10-15.

He's been eating every 30 minutes since 5:30 this morning, its 11 now and he JUST fell asleep... He does this from about 5-6 pm until 10 pm too... and from 2am-3am. He eats at other times too... but he goes longer between. This just started day before yesterday.

*sigh* I need a pump and a nap...lol.

Is it ok to go from concentrated formula, the one you mix with water, to powder milk and then back to concentrated. Its the same brand, enfamil a+. The reason I ask is because my fiance made some formula yesterday, and thought it was the powder formula that I make, it seems a lot whiter then the concentrated, is that normal? After this batch of powder is done, Im going back to the concentrated. Is that ok?

My daughter is one month old. I am feeding her about three ounces of formula every 4-5 hours, I always burp her about every ounce. about 15 minutes after she eats she will spit ALOT of her formula out. I thought I was feeding her too much so I tried giving her two ounces but she cried and cried untill I gave her the third ounce. Why does she spit up so much?

My 2 -1/2 week old has oral thrush and has also passed it to my nipples through breastfeeding. She was prescribed Nystatin but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. She is very gassy and fussy. Her first week of life she was so content and pleasant. Could the gassiness be caused by the thrush? Also I have Nystatin cream for my nipples. My nipples are doing a little better. They were so bad that they were bleeding, but that's done with now. Is there anything out there that's better than the Nystatin at clearing it up? I have an appointment with her pediatrician tomorrow and wanted to go in being prepared to reccommend other treatments.

My little boy wakes every two to three hours during the night. Im nursing him . He goes to bed with a nice full tum of grub yet keeps waking in the night. Im not sure I believe in the "Cry it out" method, besides, he stands in his crib and would get so upset that he'd bump his head off the cribs rim...Its such a difficult situation and because Im so tired I cant think straight and figure it out, also, this is my first child, so Im no pro!
SOS....Im going insane with exaustion!

Can I give her Orajel for her gums and then Tylenol for her cold? Should I do some sort of waiting period between them? She's had both before so no worries of allergic reactions or anything. Also, she'll be 11 months on march 20th. Thank you!

My daughter has been on the same brand of babyfood for the past 6 months (Heinz)..and she just recently stopped being interested in any veggies..She's fine with the mixed food/and loves fruit..but she has too much cases of diarhea from the fruit. So I was thinking about trying a different brand..maybe she will like it better. But I am concerned this may cause diarhea..has anyone switched food..and what happened?

My five month old has been sleeping through the night for a couple of months. All of a sudden she is now waking up several times (4 or 5) in the night and usually is only sleeping 40-50 min stretches? What is going on? We have tried letting her cry it out, but she still won't settle unless one of us goes in her room & sticks her soother in her mouth. I even tried a bottle thinking she may be going through a growth spurt, but she didn't seem to be hungry. She slept better as a newborn!! This has been going on for a week and we are getting really frustrated and TIRED! This 40 minute thing has even carried forward to her naps in the day too! Any suggestions on the cause and a cure??

why can't the doctor just pull on what's left of the umbillical cord and pull the placenta out? I don't know much about the placenta - so I'm not trying to be gross - I just don't understand why it needs to be a mini-delivery. Nothing is attached, right?

I know that In america, circumcision is more important, as an aesthetic thing, but i have a hard time being ok with it. It has been proven now that the babies feel it, they will even go into shock with from the pain.
The problem is, is that as an american, he wont look like all the other boys, and i dont want to make his life harder when he gets to puberty.
Either way, I either extremely physically harm my son, or make his sexual growth harder. I cant for the life of me understand how any mother could have that done to her baby, or do that to her teen!

What do i do? Do i wait, and then give him the option when he's older? Or do i take the desiscion away from him and hope he doesnt mind?

So what should i do?
