Your daughter is probably going to have a hard time with this transition because she's at an age where routine is very important to her. The best way would be to start out getting her to nap in her crib (this could be hard on you because she might not want to, but she'll get used to it). I transitioned my daughter by moving her into her crib at night but staying in there with her. I had to sleep on the floor a couple of nights, but it got easier, and now she loves her crib. She even asks to go to bed!!

its gonna be tough but if you want her sleeping with you for a long time, you might have to knuckle down and sort it out.
1st you should introduce her to the cot, let her play in it whilst you make the bed / fold the washing - talk to her and reassure constantly.
Put her down for a nap / rest in it during the day and then bedtime - be prepared for screaming, but you have to persist, cuddle her and put her back - then leave for a min or so and then if she is still screaming do the same, and gradually increase the time you leave her for - crying doesnt hurt a child - she is just showing you she objects!! This could take a week or so of crying, late nights and frustration for you - but eventually she will get to grips with it and as long as you persist she will know her boundaries.
Put some soft classical music on, as this aids rest, use a night light so she is not in the dark, and make sure she has comforters etc.. (Do not rock to sleep and then put her in it as she will not like it when she wakes up in a new surrounding)

What you do is make sure she is fed, has had a bath, cuddled, change her bum, and if everything is finished and she doesnt need anything else she can cry herself to sleep...dont wait like 1 hour but u can wait 1/2 hour or so.
If you still can get her to sleep then try some gripe water....i find that helps my baby to put her to sleep...

with hard work and luck. i did the same thing with my son he's now 22 months old and still wont stay the whole night in his room. i moved his bed into our room so he can still hear us, that seems to help and after a while of that i'll move it back into his room and see how that goes.
