Just keep feeding her breastmilk. She is probably just a spitty baby (thats what I call it). Some babies spit up more than others. My daughter was the same and I freaked out and took her to the Dr. The Dr said she was only spitting up just a teaspoon full but it looks like more. Just continue with the breastmilk and your daughter will be fine. I'm sure she is quite content with the breastmilk. Breastmilk is meant to be thin.
Breast is best so stick to it.
If you are overly worried go and see your Dr, they can give you reassurance and advice. I wouldnt miix breastmilk with formula though.

Could have a little gas due to the change from breast to formula.... maybe try adding a little mylicon infant gas drops. Also I wouldn't mix formula and breastmilk only because formula doesn't keep as long as breastmilk and you don't want to waste your precious milk especially if you aren't producing as much. It's deniitely okay to give both I'd just do it in separate bottles that way if he doesn't drink it all you don't have to dispose of the entire thing, breastmilk can be saved but formula is only good for a few hours.

wow i really dont no what your trying to say are you trying to say you want to mix formula with breastmilk?what substitute the water needed to mix it for breastmilk dont you think with both of these together it would be a little much for example to much iron some vitamins ect since both breast milk and formula contain such things.
if the reason you are trying to make thicker milk is for reflux you can actually get thickners you can add to the formula/breastmilk to help with this and its also good for hungry babies it sits in ther tummy longer.
anyway the bottom line is just breastmilk is best even if baby does have reflux.
well i hope i got it right and helped you in some way goodluck.

I have no idea about mixing breast milk and formula one but read that thin breast milk( the colour isn't really white) is better than thick white breast milk. I wish I knew the reason. This was from professional breast feeding consultant and she said it's tastier and more nutrition in it as well. Some professionals are saying you can feed breast milk only till baby is around 1 year old. If you think about what people have done in old days, you do not need to doubt about it. So believe your milk and do not worry as most of the answer saying. I do agree with those as well. You might thinking your baby tend to be hungry, but not all the baby get hungry same times a day as baby book says, do they? I'm still feeding 8-9times a day to my 6 month old baby!! Giving breast milk is great and you should be proud of yourself. Go for it! (I'm sorry this answer may not help you at all.)

Generally it is not recommended that you mix breast milk with formula. One reason is that the more formula you feed her, the less she is taking from your body, the less your body will make. Breast milk may seem "thin" but in actuallity it is VERY high in fat and therefore very satisfying. Someone else already explained that fore milk contains more water than hind milk which is richer.
Both my children were exclusively breast fed for the first six months of their lives and they were super spitter uppers. It seemed like every time they ate, they would throw half of it up! But at their first pediatricians appointment they had gained 3-4 pounds in a week. They grew really well and thrived on breast milk alone even though to me it seems as if they were spitting it all back up.
My suggestion is to keep trying to breast feed her exclusively because the more she eats the more you will make, the fuller she will get. Keep it up for 6 weeks and consult a lactation specialist.

Her not keeping breastmilk down is most likely due to something in your diet. Breast milk starts out real thin because it is for thirst, The milk towards the end of a feeding is thicker for hunger. I wouldn't mix the 2 of them. No where in the directions for mixing formula does it say it is ok to mix w/ breast milk, Its one or the other.

Keep breastfeeding, but forget the formula, just use different feeding techniques. Hold her in a more upright position as she nurses. Take her off to burp her every 5 minutes. When you are finished nursing, do not lie her down flat. Either hold her upright for awhile or put her in her car seat or infant seat. Do not nurse laying down. My firstborn daughter had a hard time keeping milk down, but doing these things reduced how often she spit up. Also, she may have reflux- you can talk to your doctor about medicines for this.

I nursed my daughter for 17 months and in the beginning, when I would burp her, she would lose most of what I fed her, I too was worried... but, keep breastfeeding, she will be fine! Burp her as often as you can and give her gas drops if they help. She just has bubbles and it sends it up quickly. Breastmilk has way more nutrients, calories and fat. She will eventually stop spitting up so much..
This is very common and unless the doctor is worried, you shouldn't worry! I know it's very easy to panic, but she'll be ok. Feed her as often as she wants and she'll fill up.
Good luck!

Honey, your breastmilk is fine. It's thinner than formula, but that doesn't mean formula is better, silly! What comes from you is the best thing on earth. relax, stay hydrated and keep breastfeeding that baby. It's okay sugar.

i wouldn't advise on mixing the two together as you dont know how compatible they are when mixed. it is fine to feed formula and breastmilk as separate feeds. i did this with my son, breastmilk during the day and formula at night because it was so much easier when you are tired but you may encounter your baby going off the breast sooner like mine as he liked the bottle teat and obviously they dont have to work as hard to feed!
