So far i like Felix, Sebastian and Jamison. I like names that are not too odd or old fashioned but are not too common either. I already have a 2 year old son Aidan Connor.

My 7 week old daughter has severe reflux. None of the propping her up, giving her thicker feeds, feeding less amounts more often, etc seems to help. She has even had x-rays to determine if there was something internally that was causing her pain. She had been on Zantac and infant panadol, but she progressively got worse after it initially helping her. She started Locep (stronger than Zantac), gaviscon and a new formula last night, and she has just screamed all morning. Has anybody else had a baby with severe reflux like this? I'm looking to hear other's stories, and if they found anything that helped.

Personally, I think it should. Breastmilk is the gold standard. Anything else is inferior. And unfortunately some people don't know that.

It's not to make anyone feel inadequit for formula feeding, it's more to inform people that don't realize.

What do you think?


btw this isn't my idea, it was actually seriously debated by major infant formula manufacters. I can't seem to find a link on it though.

My friend says that you can use them until they've eaten it all, but I thought that you needed to throw it out within an hour or so.

Like, if he just eats half an ounce and doesn't want the rest, how long is it good for?

The lady next door came over for a chat. she has a baby boy who is 2 1/2 mnths old. We got to talking about his sleeping habits. She told me that he woke up every two hrs and so she had began to put baby cereal in his bottle along with his formula in order to "fill" him up more and make his sleep longer. I think that is wrong to do. am i right?

my son in 1 1/2 and he's been sick a week now. coughing , pulling @ his ears and just plain grumpy but cuddly. I took him to the walk-in and the doc rushed me in/out said to come back in he's still not feeling better in a few days. (I do intend on finding a better doctor although its hard.)
we just got hit with super cold weather now and ive heard there are bugs/flus going around.
He's on amoxicillin and tempra. I know to go to a hospital if it gets worse as such, i m not looking for real life solustions here just suggestions

But what do you think i should do if the doctor just gives me another antibiotic? think he needs it?

My 7 month old grandson just dont want to sleep, he still gets up about every 2 or 3 hrs. Sometimes takes a bottle and goes back to sleep, other times he wants to stay awake, any advise my daughter is really getting stressed.

I breast feed and formula feed i give my 2 week old formula because he still seems hungry after breast feeding, almost 20 min later. he nurses for about 10 min and stop's himself. i try to pump but i can only pump about 1 oz from the breast he nursed from and maybe another 2-3 oz from the unnursed breast when i bottle feed he can eat about 3-4 oz i not sure if he's getting enough from me. how can i be sure ?and is there anything i can do to produce more milk for him?

My son has been acting irratible and more fussy than his usual self over the last 3-4 days. Just tonite he started running a low grade fever (99.9). I have him an appointment with the doc tomorrow, but I am concerned his fever will go up over night. He's been really fussy, he actually wants me to hold him (he usually is too active to want to be held), and he's been reaching around the right side of his head. His temp was 99.4 an hour and a half ago and when I last took it, half an hour ago, it's up to 99.9. I gave him some motrin right before I layed him down for bed and dressed him lightly for bed and covered him with a lighter fleece blanket. Do you think his fever will go up over night or will the motrin work? I hate to see him feel bad.

My 4 month old's urine has a strong odor to it. My husband thinks it might be dehydration, but she doesn't have any signs of it (sunken soft spot, dry mouth/eyes, etc). Is this normal for a formula and rice cereal fed baby?
