I've been breastfeeding for the past 3 months and i was just wondering if it was okay to mix honey in tea?

Yes, it is okay for the mother, but as you obviously know not for the baby directly. "Many parents know that it is not safe to give honey to a baby younger than one year of age. The reason that this is advised is because honey can contain the botulinum spore that in the proper environment may cause the deadly food poisoning botulism, " says iVillage. They go on to add "A pregnant mom can safely eat honey. Her digestive tract is acidic, and will prevent a botulinum spore from growing -- no toxin will be produced. There is no danger to the fetus from the mom-to-be eating honey or honey-containing foods."
Thus, you're okay to eat honey during and after your pregnancy. Congratulations by the way. --Andy

Yes that is perfectly fine for you to have honey. Just don't give your baby honey directly until at least a year old.

Yes, from what I was told that the spores can not pass through your breastmilk. I am currently bfing and still eat honey.

Actually you can't. Honey is not pasteurized and your baby eats whatever you eat. My doctor advised me to stay away from it. Best to check with your Doctor.
