Try thickening his bottles with rice cereal. It sounds like the formula just isn't thick enough to fill him up and stay with him. I would also try some baby foods mixed with rice cereal. That is what I did when my son was eating an 8 ounce bottle every 2-3 hours. This helped him to start sleeping through the night. Even if you only do this once a day, make it the last feeding before bed.

all these answers are great ones. Have you tried baby glow worm that lights up and plays music for your grandson. maybe a night light with soothing music. I did that with my kids growing up I also started doing that with my new 6 week granddaughter and just the light and sound alone converts them. also what i did was lay in bed with my kids and when they slowly went off to sleep i snuck out of the bed.
my 11 month old granddaughter would not sleep here last week I did all above and did not work so I gave her bottle with rice cereal and some children's Motrin and off she went for the night. I think it has something to do with teething with my oldest grand daughter.
good luck

with my kids we kept there naps during the day and got them on a routine at night bottle diaper change bed and no matter how loud they got... this is what happened night after night..It might sound mean but the mommys mental health is important too...she needs sleep ...by being alittle tough she is making things easier in the long run make sure you don't give him a bottle at night this just makes him more of a night owl also call your pediatrician

Try baby rice mixed in with the formula in a bottle with a wide hole. Usually it keeps them full longer and they won't want to eat again during the night.
If he's not hungry and has a clean diaper on, then I would get him one of those soothing fish things they stick on the side of the crib and turn it on and let him get himself to sleep.

Is he teething? Teething can cause wakefulness. Try infant advil and ora gel if that's the case. Also, try feeding him cereal or something heavy around bedtime that will stick with him.
