I've had 6 kids and can tell you that it really doesn't matter. Just use a detergent that doesn't have dyes or perfumes - All Free is great.

Honestly, the baby doesn't know--and no one here will tell your mother in law :)

I used the same detergant that i use on my clothes. I think that dreft and baby detergant is a little overated. As long as your detergant isnt harsh you should be fine. I have washed my 10 months olds clothes in xtra(sensations)mountian lavender and nice and fluffy(escape)lavender and sweet vanilla fabric softner. They clean great and make your clothes smell great and are not harsh on babys skin. They are also very cheep.

I like Dreft, sorry I don't know if its biological or not. I have used it for all 4 of my kids and never had a problem and as a bonus I think it smells great too

I have always washed the babies clothes seperately. just a personnal preference.

Dreft is made especially for babies, so you don't have to worry about the detergent being too strong for them or causing an allergic reaction. I would suggest washing them separate.

I don't think it much matters biological or not. Just get something without perfumes. Yes, you can wash her clothes with yours, but you need to tailor the detergent for her stuff.

I always wash my babies clothes along with the rest of the family's. I don't use anything special, although when it's available I buy the "no added perfumes and dyes" version of laundry detergent when I'm shopping. Unless your child is particularly prone to skin issues, you can just treat their clothes normally.

Dreft or All makes a baby detergent.
We washed our cloths also just to be on the safe side of him being allergic.

Dreft. It is made just for babies. You can wash your clothes at the same time only if for example dad hasn't fixed car and has oil or other hazardous fluids on them

Deft, All free and clear, All baby detergent, Target brand baby detergent. Pretty much anything free of dyes and perfumes. Also use fabric softeners free of dyes and perfumes.

1st baby...washed separate from ours & used "baby" detergent & rinsed them twice

4th baby...who has the time???

So many things I did the 1st time around were unnessecary! Unless your baby has a skin ailment, you are fine adding them with the rest of your family's clothes and using your regular detergent.
