If your baby is having plenty of wet diapers each day, dehydration may not be the issue. I would suggest calling your pediatrician because strong and especially foul smelling urine may be a sign of infection. Also, is your baby overly fussy, running a fever, have decreased appetite, or any vomiting? These may be signs of infection. My best advice to you...Never be afraid to call your pediatrician, whatever time of day it is. This is what they are there for. You know your child better than anyone and if something does not seem right to you...CALL! Good Luck.

There can be many reasons why your baby's urine has a strong ordor. I'm not a doctor, but if you are getting wet diaper, she's not dehydrated. However, odd-smelling urine can sometimes be a sign of a urinary tract infection. Of course, there are other symptoms that usually come with that, like fever and crabbiness. The best thing to do is to ask your doctor. UTIs aren't all that uncommon and they are easy to treat.

If she is still having a normal amount of wet diapers then you should ask your pediatrician. Normally odor is a sign of infection.
