We can't get her to go back to sleep. She's been up for 4 straignt hours. She doesnt cry, she is calm, but she will not sleep when you put her down. She does like to be held but doesn't sleep when held either. What could be causing this?

My little girl is a great night time sleeper (now that we have fixed her previous gas problem) and when I say great...I mean 12 hour great.

Naptime on the other hand...whole different story. Recently she has begun this crazy nap thing about only wanting to nap for 30 - 45 min and then wake up screaming. I am miserable. She is tired the rest of the day and cranky. I really feel like I spend the whole day trying to get her to nap. Its exhausting.

I have tried letting her "cry it out" even though I dont believe in it but out of exhaustion. I have tried everything. Pick up/Put down. Patting her gently back to sleep. Crying. Making her stay up longer. Nighttime routine. White noise. Music. I am at a loss. I know she isnt getting enough naptime bc she wakes up tired, yawning, rubbing her eyes. And conts this for hours till she lays back down.

She does this with both naps and I am lost on what to try next. Any advice? Or is this just a part of having a 7 m old?

My doctor recommended a little bit of dark karo syrup for my 1 month old in a bottle of formula (shes breastfed). The poor thing was backed up for 9 days...well she finally went this morning after 3 bottles...1/2 tsp in 2 oz of formula, and it was UNBELIEVABLE! The doctor tried to tell me she wasn't backed up. This little baby pooped about 3 lbs worth of yellow mud!

Should I give her some karo syrup every couple of days if she hasn't gone? I hate to let her get that backed up again she was miserable last time! Are there any bad things about giving her the syrup?

Our situation is a little unique ( to say the least ). We have a 12 1/2 month old and 2 2 month olds. One of the little ones sleeps wonderfully and is a content and quiet baby. The other needs constant nurturing, won't sleep for any lengthy period of time and is able to be quickly calmed but only when held. Obviously, giving any one baby more attention than another is nearly impossible with 3 infants and 2 parents. Any suggestions to make the "loud" one sleep more would be greatly appreciated.
