I used to babysit for a couple with a new African American baby. She had cradle cap and they asked me to just put baby lotion on her head when the skin looked dry.

stick to soaking the scalp in toddler oil for 20 minutes till now the tub. tub as commonplace and wash out the toddler oil with toddler shampoo. The cradle cap will brush precise out afterwards. incredibly undesirable cradle cap might desire to take 2 or 3 applications. toddler's pores and skin is only too delicate for the tough chemical compounds in Selsun Blue, plus in case you purchased into their eyes you will possibly desire to reason lasting injury or no longer less than have an exceedingly indignant grumpy toddler for some days with sore eyes.

I am not African-American. I do have tinea capitis, which pretty much is cradle cap for grownups (maybe it's also the technical term for actual cradle cap). I use stuff called Nizoral (ketoconazole), which is prescription stuff.

Start by using Phisoderm ph for sensitive skin types to wash the affected area with...rubbing gently, rough can and may cause more troubles in the long run. Afterwards, finish by using vitamin E oil-rub it in...if no vitamin E, baby oil should be sufficient...Good Luck!

Rub baby oil into his/her scalp (a little gentle pressure won't hurt) Let it set for about 5 minutes, then comb hair/scalp with fine-tooth comb to lift off the flakes. Wash hair with baby shampoo.

my first baby had this. put baby oil on it after you bathe the baby, let the oil set a few minutes and lightly work it out with a comb.

My sisters son had it for a while. When she washed his hair she would rinse it with baby oil and comb it through then rinse it out. It worked for her.
