I know, it's so hard until they get to the point where they can start grabbing for toys and stuff.
I used to keep a running commentary of what I was doing. Things like "Mommy's going to fold the laundry now" and "Mommy's making a sandwich, first I put two slices of bread down, then spread on some mayo, add some cheese and see how I'm cutting it in half." Babies at that age just want to hear your voice. I even read aloud from the John Grisham novel I was reading!
The Fisher Price website also has some fun age appropriate games you can play with the baby.
Have fun!

I felt the same way! So I know where you're coming from.
At this age it's really helpful to put your little guy down for some tummy time. It's great if you have a gymini, but you can use a quilt too. When he's lying on his belly, but your hands perpendicular to his feet so when he kicks your hand it will actually propell him forward. This will help you to recognize which of his legs is the strongest, and the two of you can work on strenthening the other one.
This is also a great time to just read to him. Or you can lay down next to him on the floor and play with stuffed animals in front of them. Make it seem like they're alive. You might feel goofy at first, but you'll get used to it.
In another 2-3 weeks he'll start smiling and laughing a lot and then you'll have motivation to try other things!
Congrats!

Everything you're doing sounds perfect! Don't feel bad, all your baby wants right now is to be close to you! You are his best friend, after all :) Here's a passage taken from the Nipissing District Development Screen™, which is a checklist designed to help monitor your child's development: "Talk, sing lullabies, say rhymes, or make up sayings so I can listen to the sound of your voice. Change your voice, I may like high pitch or low pitch." I have enclosed the link to this page on my website, along with the next level up:

Good luck and enjoy this precious time!

At this age there really isn't much. I would recommend putting him on his stomach for at least an hour or two a day. He may not be able to raise his head yet, but you will be so much better off. Later on most babies hate tummy time because they can't move and get very frustrated and cry. If you give him tummy time now he is better off. You can simply put him on a nice warm blanket and turn on some nice slow music and let him just lay and listen. This allows you to get a few things done. While he is listening to music you may also give massages. Babies LOVE them. And it is scientifically proven that it helps babies develop better.
CONGRATS!!!!!!

Talking and singing, and reading books. They're never too young to read to. Give him some tummy time so he can build up his muscles and put him under a gym or something with bright colors, etc, to stimulate him. Other than that, there isn't much you can do with a 2 month old. Congrats on the baby!!

There is not much you can really do. You are already doing what you can by taking care of him, feeding him, changing him, and playing with him. All babies do at this stage is eat, sleep, pop, and look cute. Don't worry soon enough you will have more than enough stuff to do for and with him, for no just enjoy him in this little dependant, fragile stage, because it doesn't last forever. All the best.

That's all you really can do at that age. I felt bad too when mine were little. In a couple of months you will be able to play peek-a-boo, tickle him and explore the great out doors (more like stand on the porch and watch the dogs play) but hey, he'll love it!

I think you are doing a good job. Theres only so much you can do with a two month mainly beacause all they do Is sleep, eat , and poop. I have a nine month old and she Is so busy so you just enjoy your peaceful time now because In a few months you'll be running all over the place.

I did the same thing with my son. He will just need some tummy time. Just don't feel bad. Soon he will be doing a lot more. My son is 15 months and he is as happy as a boy can be.

That's what they do, don't feel bad. You could put some type of mobile over him or get a gymini mayt that has things hanging over it for the floor. Reading is great and fun. When he is just lying there and happy don't worry, he's probably busy learning more than you know about his surroundings.
