I think you need to be more specific. What are your parent's blood types. What's yours exactly. You can't get exact answers unless you give exact details. I don't think it's too wierd, unless your dad is A and your mom is O and somehow you're B. Then it would be weird. However, if your mom and dad are both A, and all your siblings are A, and you're O, that's not that weird, but actually quite possible. So what are you?

Certain blood types are very common. Chances are, your family mostly has a more common type and you just wound up being the oddball. My brother has an odd blood type which nobody else has. I'm pretty sure it's totally normal.

OK, here is a serious answer to your question! Look on the following web site to see charts on how blood types are inheirited. Also, did you know that if one parent is type A and the other is type B, you can be AB...therefore "different' from both. Be sure to get correct info, then talk to your doc if needed. Must also consider Rh pos. and neg and many lesser known factors. Good Luck.

That does sound wierd to me. As far as I know one of your parents has to have the same blood type as you. Like my mom is O- and my dad is A+ and my blood type is A+. My hubby is the same as me so all of our children have A+ blood. I would have the test taken again, ask your parents if they're sure about their blood types and then go from there. Don't go jumping to conclusions, although with these results it would have to be hard to.

It's probably a genetic throwback, something that happens occasionally when a recessive gene from generations ago suddenly reappears.

You're joking, right?
It's not possible for you to have a different blood type than BOTH your biological parents....so one of your parents has some explaining to do!!

Do you know if you are adopted? That would be the only reason that you would have a different blood type.

I don't think it's wierd, and I'm not going to stick my nose into the 'what if mommy did...' subject. I would read this article and see for yourself what the possibilites are of this happening.
