Haven't tried it yet though I have been very curious! I do taste everything that goes into her mouth tho like medicine and teething tablets.. interesting point you brought up haha. When I start pumping again for school in January I will probably try it. I don't even have a breast pump right now lol. Was Jaiden's 5 month birthday today? Hallie's 4 month birthday was today!

Breastmilk has a very sweet, nice taste to it. Formula in comparison has a chalky, yucky taste to it. Apparently the taste changes with what you eat, which is why typical guidance is to limit very spicy, flavorful foods when nursing. Eat how you did during your pregnancy and you should be fine - your baby has been tasting your meals since s/he developed taste buds!

It tastes like sugar water. I've tasted my own after I had pumped it, froze it, and had to reheat it. I had to make sure it wasn't hot. It tasted pretty good actually. It's sweet. I nursed for 18 months with my son, and never had a complaint from him! LOL! You are making the right choice to nurse. Sometimes it's hard at first, but stick with it. It's worth it for you (bonding, weight loss), and for your baby (healthier, bonding). Congrats!

Colostrum is sweet -as sweet as corn syrup
Breastmilk is sweet, but not as sweet. Waaay sweeter than cow's milk though (because babies are supposed to eat more often than cows)
All breast milk tastes a little different though.

I have never tasted it, but all reports I know of say it is sweet, which is why babies prefer sweet things when it comes to weaning. (i have a friend who tasted her milk, and she said it was sweet and nice.)

i was told when i had my daughter by the lactation consultant at the hospital, that it had a LOT to do with the foods you eat. it can change the taste if you eat a lot of sweet foods or really spicy foods. things that are strongly flavored like garlicy flavored foods would change it significantly.
