My daughter is about to officially be 8 months in 4 days, and I am concern that her only solid she takes is guacamole. She hates all gerbers food, and the little crackers too for the teething. The daycare lady said to just keep trying, but I do, with no success. It's either her baba, or guac. Plus, she like it with GARLIC in it? New biological dad here, wife away, confused dude...please help!

My son just started on peas on Monday and Wednesday was the last time he pooped. I stopped the peas today just in case its making him constipated. Is it bad if a baby dosent poop for 2 days?

My five month+1week old daughter just said "mom" tonight, just as freakin cute as she could! Later, I caught her whispering"ma-ma-ma-ma-ma.." to herself as she was playing on the floor! It was so funny, but even though she doesn't know what it means does this count as a 'first word'? Is this the age babies start talking like this, and at what age will she know what 'mom' means? When did your children start doing this?

My son ....

the last 3 days has been spitting up a large amount of milk after he is finished eating. Today it hasn't been as bad. Tue & Wed we would go through two burp clothes or a recieving blanket and 2 outfits every feeding. It seemed like it was more of a forceful spitup like vomiting. It came up like someone who would be vomiting. He's been eating more often (another growth spurt) and has been having only 2 or 3 large bowel movements daily and they're like explosions when he does. They come out foaming or bubbling ( happened when i was changing his diaper).

He sweated like crazy where he was wet to the touch yesterday evening and Tuesday evening. I have been trying my best to keep him cool. Even have given him cool bath's. His soft spot also seems more sunken in than it has been ever the last 3 days too. Like I just feel his skul and when my fingers run over the middle of it my fingers sink into his soft spot.

I asked my mom about it and she said to just watch him. My husband thinks I am being paranoid. I have no vehicle .. he took the car to work (he's shipping out soon so our 2nd vehicle is in my hometown).

Peyton also won't take bottles really. I have trouble giving them to him. He won't take them from my husband either so we can't give him water during the day to drink.

I guess what I am asking is ... what are signs of dehydration????

oh .. he has a wet diaper everytime I change him which is over 10 times a day.

Any thoughts would be a great help!

I started to put my baby in her walker when she was 6 months old. Now she is 8 months and still doesn't know how to walk in her walker, and she does not craw yet but rolls around to get where she needs to go. This kind of concerns me because it has been this long and she doesn't really try. Should I be concerned or not worry about it?

Sorry to sound like an idiot, but I'm pregnant with my first baby and I really don't know what to expect.

Many people have suggested that I should keep baby tylenol in my diaper bag. What exactly do moms use it for? And how do you know if your baby needs it?

To be clear I am not talking about sore nipples. My baby latches well now and that is under control. I am not talking about engourged breasts I have felt that too. I am talking about a different kind of soreness.

The soreness I am talking about is just tender breasts. Kinda like the sorness when I first got pregnant. The don't really hurt when I am just going about my day but when my husband (or anything) touches them. I want my husband to caress them while we cuddle but it hurts so much. I used to love having him touch them but now it hurts too much. That is the soreness I am refering to

Will they be sore like that the whole time I am pregnant?

What Did I Do Today?

Today I left some dishes dirty,
The bed got made around 3:30.
The diapers soaked a little longer,
The odor grew a little stronger.
The crumbs I spilled the day before
Are staring at me from the floor.
The fingerprints there on the wall
Will likely be there still next fall.
The dirty streaks on those windowpanes
Will still be there next time it rains.
Shame on you, you sit and say,
Just what did you do today?

I held a baby till she slept,
I held a toddler while she wept.
I played a game of hide and seek,
I squeezed a toy so it would squeak.
I pulled a wagon, sang a song,
Taught a child right from wrong.
What did I do this whole day through?
Not much that shows, I guess that's true.
Unless you think that what I've done,
Might be important to someone
With deep blue eyes and soft blonde hair,
If that is true...I've done my share

Apparently when I was born, the doctor lifted me up and said "Ah! Looks like Kirk Douglas!" It's the dimple.

If you have ever seen the movie Signs when they are doing the scene where the father is telling the kids what happened when they were born, that's what I was thinking about. I realized the movie would have been fifty times cooler if he went "Do you know what the doctors said when you were born...? Ah.. looks like Kirk Douglas!" In that oh so solemn tone.

last year, and we are very close. I really don't want to be seperated from him, but our financial situation is going to be too tight if I don't work. How do you get over missing your child? The first time I left him with someone, The very first and only time, he got badly hurt with a bad injury to his mouth and nose. When I left him with her(she is a relative), she assured me she would take care of him and watch him. Every time I think about it I start to cry. How can I trust anyone to take care of him when my own family member let him get badly hurt?
