Your body will adjust to the needs of your baby, and you will start to wonder if there's any milk in there at all!! This can happen when your baby is 2 weeks old or when your baby is a month or two old. You may continue to leak up to a full year, but your breasts won't be sore that whole time.
Nursing frequently can prevent the engorgement *and* help your body adjust sooner. Try nursing at least 12 times in 24 hours and see if that helps.

A milk duct can become plugged if the baby does not feed well, if the mother skips feedings (common when the child is weaning), or if she wears a constricting bra. Symptoms of a plugged milk duct include tenderness, heat and redness in
one area of the breast, or a palpable lump close to the skin.
Sometimes, a tiny white dot can be seen at the opening of the duct on the nipple. Massaging the area and gentle pressure can help to remove the plug.
If you think that your breasts are becoming infected, self-care may include applying moist heat to the infected breast tissue for 15 to 20 minutes four times a day.
Antibiotic medications are usually very effective in treating a breast infection. You are encouraged to continue to breast-feed or to pump to relieve breast engorgement (from milk production) while receiving treatment

Hmmmm.... I had four children, and I remember my breasts being sore and warm to the touch one time. It turned out to be an infection. You might want to ask your doctor about that.
Women who have fibrous tissue in their breasts (there are a lot of us, I think they say about 80% DO have)... will get sore because of certain foods, even when they are not breastfeeding.
Caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate, colas and other sodas) will always make that kind of pain much worse.
Your breasts shouldn't stay sore like that; I think there may be something you can do to change that.

No, they won't. You've only been doing it for a short time, it sounds like, and there are still hormonal things going on. They will feel less sore as time goes on!
I know it's going to sound really silly, but believe me, it works.
Buy yourself a head of cabbage and leave it in the fridge. When you are feeling particularly sore, pull off two leaves and put them over your breasts; kind of like a cabbage bra.
I don't know why it works, but it does. Your breasts and nipples should feel better.

No, eventually your breasts will not be so tender. At least, that's been my experience (am currently nursing my third child). Mine stay tender for a month or 6 weeks, then they feel normal again.
I second the suggestion to use cool cabbage leaves, it's an old remedy that many midwives use, and it really does work.

No - they will get back to normal...Every week it will get better and better. (after the first or second week, which are the worst)...when I first started nursing I couldnt sleep on my stomach because my boobs hurt so bad...I started to after about a month...I would say by 2 months, they felt completely normal - like I wasnt nursing at all...this too shall pass!

Congratulations on figuring out before on on your being pregnant that you opt for the very wonderful on your infant by technique of desirous to breastfeed him/her. I breastfed all 4 of my children as little ones and it surely makes existence plenty a lot less complicated, no bottles to could sterilize, dont favor to agonize about heating up a bottle, no favor to purchase formulation. It feels like there has been diverse "myths" thrown your way with reference to breastfeeding. Your breasts are very smooth as you're pregnant and they are replacing, after your infant is born the soreness isn't there as they could have already replaced. Feeding your little you ought to not sense a similar as an important different sucking on your breast, you're literally unlikely to get aroused, you're feeding a invaluable infant and there is milk being drawn out of your breast, its very different. the way slightly one sucks to allure to the milk out of your nibble isn't like at the same time as a breast pump is used, you'll locate that in case you employ a pump purely then not purely will you be spending a great deal of time making use of a pump notwithstanding it received't improve your milk furnish a similar as feeding your infant, feeding slightly one is amazingly swifter than making use of the pump, they get the milk out swifter and a lot less complicated. also your breasts after a lengthy time period will furnish the quantity your infant needs, its furnish on call for , so the more effective your infant grows and needs the more effective your breasts will produce. there is not something preventing your husband from taking section in the feeding of the baby, you'll coach a bottle esp first element contained in the morning once you may have a lot more effective milk and put in the refrigerator so once you're cooking dinner or something your husband ought to feed the baby. Its what I used to do and it became tremendous. Your husband is often desirous about diverse different innovations, there is not something preventing him from putting the baby on your breast and chatting with the baby at the same time as its being fed, babys communicate plenty with their eyes on the instantaneous and not in any respect something seems more effective constructive than seeing your infant's eyes do away with darkness from once you're chatting with him/her. i comprehend it is lengthy, in case you prefer to question me something be at liberty to deliver me a message or use messenger
