I'm not sure if I should homeschool, private, or what. We have tried all and so far homeschool seems to be the best but I worry about them not having enough friends to play with.

I have noticed that a lot of children around the age of 5-8 years old are afraid to fly. This seems to be more in that age group than usual and I wonder if any of it is due to post 9/11 footage they have seen on TV. What do you think?

My sister lets my nephew play games that are not suitable for his age. He knows how to pick up the hookers in grand theft auto and gets a kick out of it. Also he plays a lot of games that involves shotting and things of that nature. While playing these games he curses like a 18 year old teen. Do you let your child play video games? What kind?

She decided about 6 months ago that she didn't want to eat hamburger. Then it slowly changed to all meats. She has her reasons and I've giving up trying to argue because she does get her nutrients from other foods ( protien and iron too.) and takes vitamins everyday. She eats everything, Including fiddleheads!!! She just won't eat meat anymore. I basically want to know if this is a phase other people have gone through with their child and how they dealt with it? Thanks in advance

My little cousin was 3 years old when his mother committed suicide. He doesnt really talk much about his mother .He's 7 years old now and he asked his father yesterday did his mother go to heaven? He told the kid no.(God does not forgive you for killing yourself.) If you were the dad would you have lied to him and told him yes.Why or why not? I think it really hurt him when his father told him this.Be honest and if you don't have a real answer then don't answer my question.

Who here buys into the theory that it's not bad for your child to get sick when they're toddlers because it helps build up their immune system, and by the time they start kindergarten, they won't constantly be sick and staying home? My sons' pediatrician told me this, and I don't buy it. There are SO many strains of the cold virus, flu, etc. out there. What are the chances my son is going to come into contact with the same cold virus twice? If he gets it, yes, he'll be immune, but the next person he comes in contact with who has a cold will more than likely have a different type of cold, so my son's going to be sick again anyway.

If your child was kept at home during infancy and the toddler stage and was rarely sick...when your child started kindergarden, did you notice him constantly sick and missing school? Same for those of you who have kids in daycare...since your child has probably had a few colds, was he mostly healthy during kindergarden?

They told me because I was not receiving welfare that there is a no enforcement policy when someone is recieving SSI! Is this true has anyone else heard of such crap? If this is not true how can I fight Friend of the Court decision?

My daughter just turned 9. She has been really moody, one minute she laughs, then next she cries, then she might giggle or just be happy. She has recently started developing boobs and getting some pubic hair. she is growing up to fast. I dont know how to deal with her attitude. She is a great child but I just want to make sure I am doing her right. The only thing I can do is support her and let her know that I love her regardless. She keeps telling me it is her "hormonal syptoms." (she is too smart) I have also explained that she will not use that as an excuse to get away with things. My husband is gonna try to spend more time with her so he can help me with teaching her. (we have a special needs child that requires alot of our time and attention) My special needs child is also the center of the rest of the families attention, I think maybe my daughter might be doing some of this for attention or maybe she is going through some changes! I am trying so hard! Help me!

Do you let your daughter go into the rest room by herself? I worry about sexual preditors hiding in restrooms. Be curious to know how other parents handle this situation.

My son is about to turn 11. Over the past few months he has begun acting out towards his brothers and others. He hits more, spits at them, he reminds me of a toddler. (and he didn't go through the terrible two's, he's always been a kind average kid) When playing a game with his brothers or other kids, he wants to take things when it isn't his turn, he is pushy...I know puburty is knocking at his door, but spitting? He really does remind me more of a younger kid. I am worried about him. Any ideas moms and dads?
Thanks

my 6-year-old son knows I disapprove of him seeing movies rated PG or higher unless i've seen it and think it's ok for him.

this new movie Pirates of The Carribean is rated PG-13. this is supposed to mean it may be inappropriate for children under 13 right? So why is McDonalds marketing the hell out of this movie on a HAPPY MEAL??

Have you EVER seen a 13-year-old buy a happy meal. They wouldn't be caught dead with one of those! which means that mcdonalds is trying to get buyers of happy meals (3 - 8 year-olds) to see a movie they're not supposed to see!

how am i as a parent supposed to teach values that are being contradicted by MCDONALDS?
