Any suggestions on giving allowance for a 6 years old child? How much shall we give him? If he does housework, shall we give him extra as reward? If he does not behave, shall we take away his allowance as punishment?

My neighbor's 15 year old nephew is visiting. He came over last week to ask my 8 year old daughter to ride bikes with him around the neighborhood. He did not ask me...he asked her.
She came in and asked me if she could. I told her no, and not to hang around him at all. I thought it was very odd that a teenager wanted to play with an 8 year old.
There are several teen boys in the neighborhood for him to hang out with, but he insists on only being with the younger girls.
Now, his aunt is complaining that I was out of line for not allowing him to play with her and went out of her way to tell my children that I am 'mean'. She didn't bother to come talk to me personally.

I say I did the right thing, and if that makes me mean, then so be it.

What do you think?

My son is a compulsive liar.I think he may need a psyciatric evaluation,but i don't know how to ask a doctor about this.His biological father and other family members have mental disorders and other serious problems like this.What can i do?

That really bothers me, when I see a little girl with her hair all over her head. If you're going to have children with black american males, you should at least learn how to fix your childs hair. It just makes you want to get a comb and brush and hook that child up, so they can look civil.

I look at the situation and laugh because when I was in the 5th grade I only would let the guys dry hump me and being that young i didn't understand that it couldn't get me pregnant. I feel so dumb for being that upset and anxious that I was pregnant when I was 11. i mean i put myself through all the upsetness when I was 11. Man was I slow!!!! what do you think?

my daughter has a guinea pig in her room, nightlights, t.v. with satellite, a dvd player what more can i do!!! she fights us everynight screaming and making herself sick. if she does fall asleep in her room she never makes it through the entire night. ends up on couch or in bed with husband and i!!! trying to be hard core bout this but i sont know how many more nights i can make myself stay up yil 11 or 12 until she falls asleep!!! she i start removing items from her room? what?!!!!!! please anyone advice please!!!!.......tired and cranky

When my boys of 6 and 8 started public school......and at the same time started playing with the neighbors older son (who is a very nice kid, but using the language that a 12 year old uses)......my kids started to think it was so amusing to start using bad words. They constantly are "slipping" and it infuriates me!!! I've tried punishment, I've tried calm explanation of how it makes you sound "not smart" and trashy, how it's not funny. But it's like Pandora's box has been opened and that's it. They are so young to be using these words!!! What do I do?

Real advice from parents please.
