She's 4 weeks old and has thrush. I know pumping doesn't cure thrush, but it's been helping lower my pain level. Until we find something that makes the thrush go away (already tried gentian violet and nystatin) I plan on pumping. This could be a couple weeks maybe? Will she want to breastfeed again after being away from it for that long?

I'm having a baby in a few weeks and my husband heard of something called paid paternity leave for the father. Is it a state required thing, or is it something that only a few employers offer?

I had my first c-section because after 31 hours i still wasnt fully dilated. Now I am seeing a dr. and have to see another dr.at 34 weeks who will actually deliver the baby. I was informed that he does his c-sections at 38 weeks. I am worried and not sure if I should just find another dr. Guess I just need some input on this.

How much do you spend on your child(ren) for Christmas/Hanukkah/Yule/Kwanzaa? Thoughts/reasons? Do you think most people overspend? What is your definition of "too much"?

ok why is abortion a controversial issue. i know its becuz of ppl and their opinions. but like what are the many broad sides of abortion. obviously u have ur against side and for side. but like what are their reasons? like if ur against u would say, whats a reason for being agianst it. and same for being for abortion. think of it like a bubble diagram. with abortion in the middle then two different lines, one saying "against" and one saying "for" and what issues break off from both of those

Anyway, I am 11 weeks and at Thanksgiving I will be 12 1/2 weeks. I was thinking my husband and I would tell them then, but I am still scared something could go wrong if I do. You know Murphy's Law. I was thinking about waiting until XMas. I will be 16 weeks and might feel a little more secure. I am totally freaked out, because they all think we dont want any kids. What would you do? No I am not showing. I am fat so noone would be able to tell anyway and I have yet to actually gain wt. I am eating healthier than ever and even lost two pounds so no trouble hiding it.

I swear I've seen at least 5 questions today asking what to get their children for Christmas! Are parents so uninvolved with their children they have no clue what they want? What happened to sitting down with your kids and having them make out a wish list? My family was dysfunctional and they still knew what to get me for Christmas....

I know...MAYBE GET OFF THE COMPUTER, SPEND SOME TIME WITH YOUR KIDS AND ASK THEM WHAT THEY WANT!

Geez.

He eats puree, mashed up vegetables with potatoes, sometimes rice, slices of bread and biscuits. As soon as there is something where he has to use his teeth, he refuses to eat it, or spits it out.

We've tried encouraging him, giving him less on his plate, making it look pretty, but it doesn't work. Today, we gave him potatoes and carrots cooked, and cut into chips. It took him half an hour to eat THREE potatoes, which were about the size of his finger, and the last, he kept it in his mouth and didn't want to swallow....even when he had left the table he was walking around with it in his mouth.

He is also a very late speaker -40 word vocabulary and no associations between the words. He seems to have a problem pronouncing words where you move your tongue a lot, so I wonder if that has anything to do with his refusal to eat. Also... he has not yet got his last molars.

Anyone had the same problem? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was honestly curious why anyone would choose not to have their son circumcised. I feel that it is very unattractive not to be and that men who are not circumcised will later be ridiculed by their peers. So why would a parent choose not to have their son circumcised and instead subject them to ridicule?

I honestly feel it should be done purely for cosmetic reasons to every male baby boy born.

What are your guys thoughts on circumcision

My son is only 8 months old but already he is too big for his baby bathtub (he has fisher price aquarium bathtub) http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/5145Q0SY1XL.jpg
anyways in the middle of this bathtub is a separator so the infant can sit in the tub but it gives the older baby less room for legs when they can sit upright by themselves. Anyway my baby is too big so I was wondering how old should he be when I start bathing him elsewhere? And when I do stop using the tub how do I bathe him ? In shower with me or in normal bath tub or should I purchase a new bath tub?

My husband and I are at odds on when our son, who is 2 1/2, is ready for a regular drinking cup. I think he does very well for his age when drinking out of his small, lidless cups, and I really don't want to start back with the sippy cups. My husband hates that our son spills his cups once in a while because of the messes. He usually knocks them over, but he drinks just fine with one or both hands. He spills it a few times a week, maybe 3 to 4 times a week. We have hardwood floors, so I'm not too worried about it because it's easy to clean up but it drives my husband crazy. I've already thrown out all of his sippy cups (did it before my husband came home from deployment because I didn't think he'd have a problem with it) and I really don't want to get my son back on them.
Your opinion?
