I had my first c-section because after 31 hours i still wasnt fully dilated. Now I am seeing a dr. and have to see another dr.at 34 weeks who will actually deliver the baby. I was informed that he does his c-sections at 38 weeks. I am worried and not sure if I should just find another dr. Guess I just need some input on this.

Your concidered full term at 37 wks, I think you and your baby would be fine. But if it worries you then find another doctor. Good Luck and Congrats!

It should be alright. I'm sure they will do ultrasounds so they will know the size of your baby and will be able to tell when you would be due, as close as possible. I'm sure he wouldn't have a policy of delivering them at 38 weeks if he's had problems with it. He probably does it so that he knows you won't go into labor before hand and they won't have to do an emergency c-section.

I would definitely seek a second opinion. There is nothing wrong with it, and even if you feel you are too far along, you aren't. Do some research around the area for another OB/GYN and see what their opinion is, if a c-section is really necessary, do they even (or do you even) want VBAC, and if 38 weeks is something that is routinely done. This is your health and your child's heal, no one can fault you for wanting to make sure.

My sister's circumstances were almost identical to you. She laboured for close to two days and nothing, she never progressed, and eventually had an emergency c-section, but she had two successful VBAC's. It's not too late to talk to another doctor about YOUR body and YOUR birth. I

my doctor mixed up my chart with someone else and my son ended up being born via c-section 5.5 weeks early, it wasn't until he got back to his office later that day when he realized when going thru my chart his mistake.
My son was born tho weighing 7Lbs10oz's I am so glad he was born early, had he been born full term he would have been a 10 pounder for sure.
That was 11yrs ago tho and i have had 2 more c-sections since by the same doctor without any problems, trust in your doctor and ask a lot of questions to ease your mind, and most doctors will do a section at 38weeks so that you don't go into labor. i have wanted to go naturally so my doc will let me go 40 weeks, and in my case i just can't go into labor.
