just make a list with your husband, one side saying why you shouldn't have a home birth, the second saying why you should. if it was me, i'd be looking at the aspects (will I be staying at this residence for a long while/having my baby here for sentimental value? Do I need that extra reassurance of my child being born in a hospital just in case anything happens? (not that it will) Will it be less stress on the family, husband, and most importantly the baby and myself to have the baby in the hospital or home? Will it be easier for me to be more comfortable at home?) just try it out, it might put things in perpective for you. Hope you find what suits best for you and the new babers. Congratulations :)

Why not consider a home birth, if you have had no past medical problems with your children?
Its a magnificent and wonderful thing to do, and the 2 midwives with you on the day you go through labour, are highly trained in case of an emergency.
Less than 1% of women currently give birth at home, so if you can do - enjoy it, as it is a once in a life-time experience!
My next baby will also be delivered at home! I cant wait!

If you have had any issues at all with problems with any of the other births I would not recommend it, and you might not find a midwife that will help you. If you have had no problems, it is up to you. I had to have an emergency c-section with my son, and I lost a baby at 21 weeks last year, so I can never have a home birth.

There is allot of information on the net about home births and I believe that it would behoove you to explore. You must have had uncomplicated deliveries previously or you wouldn't be considering.... get as much education as you can possibly get. Talk to a doolah, talk to a midwife....talk to your physician.... it is the most wonderful experience you can experience as a mother and as a new family.

that is up to you, the best thing to do is weigh your option. what if something goes wrong, how close are we to the hospital should something go wrong, can i deal with the pain without certain medication. I would go to the hospital, i am going to the hospital for number 2, went for number 1.

I say try the midwife/home experience as long as all your births perviously were normal and without ocmplications. Its always nice to experience new kinds of methods of birth, especially something as natural as home birthing.
Goodluck!

If you haven't had any problems delivering before, why not try it at home? I have a friend who had both her kids at home. I mean people prior to the 1900's were having babies at home all the time.
