My daughter-in-law has had a baby 2days ago. She is in tears as her breasts are full and sore and no milk is coming out to feed baby. What can she do to relieve her and let her milk run and to avoid fever??? I'm desperate for a good answer as she is thousands of miles away. Only concerned people must answer please, time is of the essence. Thank you.

Okay...how many of you had the screening done?
If so, what were the results?
Did your child really turn out as bad as they said it would?

I am almost 41. I am going to have the nuchal fold testing done. My doc is recommending that I do amnio too, because of my age.

The thing is: I won't terminate the pregnancy anyway, so what good will it do me to have invasive testing done......

I keep hearing that most nuchal fold screen results are much worse than how the baby actually turns out when born.

What's your opinion on this?

Doctor called today to say that the results from the hour test were high and that I need to come in for the three hour test. From my reading- 85% of the women who come in for the second test don't have gd. What are your opinions? How was the second test? What is a crab load and should I do it if the doctor didn't suggest it?

My one year old daughter can't drink cow's milk because it gives her diarrhea so she's been drinking soy milk for over a month now. I know that soy milk has less fat in it than regular milk.
So my question is: should she be drinking more soy milk to make up for the lower fat content or should I be feeding her fattier foods or more food during the day?

How do I nicely tell my friends not to bring their nannies along with their child for my 2 - yr old daughter's birthday party in my invite ( which I'm sending through sms)? .... till six month my baby used to sleep in his cot. whole night he did not distrub me accept feeding . but now he is 8 month old and he does not want to sleep in his cot . get up middle of the night and cry.when i bring him to my bed he goes bach to sleep . why is that ?

I have a question about the application for my babys birth certificate It has a question that says reason certificate required?........Im a bit confused, It also says attention of if being mailed?.......I kinda have an idea but Im not too sure what I should write in the blanks and Im trying to avoid the Human Service Dpt return the application if for some reason I dont fill it out correctly. Please Help! Our 7 year old daughter begged us for a baby sibling. She spent months reading about baby care, even before I got pregnant. When I got pregnant, she was ecstatic! Now her baby brother has finally arrived, and she seems so sad...
She has helped feed him and burp him, and she seems to like him and being with him, but both me and my husband think she seems depressed and uncommunicative. Tonight, I wanted to talk with her and she asked me to leave her room. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I am very upset to see her so down.

I may sound like all "new moms" but I really want to be the best mom I can be. I want to do so many thing with my little one but I'm afraid that she maybe to young. I read to her now but i'm wondering what I can do to make us closer and to be sure she is "average or above average" regarding development. Is that dumb? I just want to make sure she's up to date wtih all her developmental goals, she's not overweight and is constantly stimulated. My dad use to read to me ALOT when I was young and I've always loved to read as I got older. I hope to do the same with her. I just dont want to miss or forget anything.
I'm planning to take her to the botanical garden because, she like to look at the trees when we're outside..lol I know I probably sound like a crazy new mom but, I just dont want to make mistakes or regret not doing something. I want us to be close and education is vital. Any suggestions on toys, entertainment or activities that might be good for us?

Every monrning my 6 year old and I would walk to school, and she's this "Scary Man" who had tattoos and piercings all over his face and I can guess..the rest of his body. She would always say something like "He's scary" or "He's a bad guy". I would talk to her quite often about not judging people and he was some little boys grandpa. (He was an elderly gentleman and walked his grandson to kindergarten). I told her some little boy loves him the same as she loves her grandpa and we should never, ever think things about people before knowing them. That being said - I found out recently on the sexual offenders website for my town that he's a convicted rapist and various other sex crimes. What should I do now? Tell her "Know what I said about not judging people..forget all of that...that IS a bad guy"? HELP!!

Ok, I feel nasty. But im not sure its a cold yet. I often get sinus headaches when I'm down which is not surprising this week the baby has been sooo fussy with colic I dont think I have had 3 hrs sleep together in any one day.
I've heard two reports;
one is that you should never feed the baby whilst sick and with a fever. And that you should pump and dump and giv formula.

The other is that your breastmilk gives anitbodies and that the baby wont catch what you have but if you give formula maybe they will because it stops getting the antibodies.


But when you are sick and you kiss someone...they are probably going to get sick. The whole body fluid transferrance thing.

Anyone who can back up their advice with the fact that their doctor told them or the fact that they are a doc or a med student or something would really help. I dont really need hearsay here. Thanks!

Is this safe? I took probably 2 caplets - not everyday, but maybe every other day before I knew I was pregnant. Should I stop taking now? I don't have my first Dr. appointment for a few weeks.

Our baby is 10 weeks old and was being fed on breast milk and formula up until two days ago. He was having about two 120ml bottles of formula a day aswell as breast milk. He has suddenly dropped his intake of bottled milk to about 50ml although the amount of brerast feeding seems to have gone up a bit. He now cries whenever we try to give him the bottle. Why is this? What can we do about it?

im 37 weeks pregnant, and i get so irritated by the littlest things! i was ready to choke my fiance for sneezing so much...i know he has allergies and cant help it.
