The saying goes, Breast is best.
Breast milk contrary to what most women think, gives baby a hell of allot more nourishment per millilitre than formula can deliver despite what crap they tell you in the adverts.

He wants the good stuff! Mummy Milk tastes so much better than that nasty old powdered stuff out of a bottle!!! Plus the warmth and closeness of feeding from Mum is so much nicer and more comforting than sucking on a plastic bottle.
Some breastfed babies have a problem switching between the teat and the breast because they both take a different "suckling" technique. My son wouldn't have a bottle anywhere near him! It was breast or nothing for him.
Is there any reason why you want to give him the formula? Breastfed babies don't need formula and giving it to them can cause problems with mums milk supply. If I was you I'd ditch the formula and just breastfeed him. He's obviously telling you thats what he wants! Clever boy, he knows whats best for him!

Sounds like he prefers "the real stuff"!! Or maybe as he is 10 weeks old he might be starting to teeth and his gums might be a bit sensitive. If he is taking more of the breast feed I wouldnt really be worried as he isnt going to lose weight. Have you tried a different shaped teat on the bottle? Maybe he just doesnt like the one that you are using at the moment. Have you offered him expressed milk in his bottles, if so, does he take them? If he does i think he just prefers the breast milk to the formula.

Because mum is nicer, warmer, sweeter than a bottle.
Babies prefer the taste of breastmilk to formula, it’s sweeter.
Bottles just aren’t as nice and warm as mum, your baby is a smart one. Feeding isn't all about the milk, it's also about the closeness to mummy--feeling her, smelling her, being next to her heart.
To get baby to take a bottle again, mum can't do it, or even be in the same room. Dad will have to do it. Your baby isn't stupid, he'll want the real thing, not the fake.
You might consider a breast pump, it's cheaper than formula and baby will be more likely to take expressed milk than formula.
Not to mention that breast milk makes for a healthier baby than formula.

Your baby probably knows that you are slowly going to take away the breast milk and is resisting for that reason. My son did the same thing. He just did not want formula, or his body might still need what mommy offers rather than the formula. I breastfed my son for 6 months. Pediatricians say that it is healthier for the baby if he gets breastfed from 6 months up to 1yr.

good for him, give him breast milk in a bottle, but the teet is different so he may well reject that too. My first 2 were bottle babies but the third very much for the boob and never ever had a bottle and went straight onto cups, he has the best shaped teeth too!

It seems he likes the breast milk better. If you can, I would just give him only breast milk. If you can't, I wouldn't worry about it unless he starts to loose weight. He will just take more at the breastfeeding and less at the bottle feeding, but it will probably even out in the end.

I would consider switching nipples however if she's only a week old the flow of stage 2 nipples may be too much! Maybe you can try to open the nipple a little your self with a knife or something....Im a mother 2 be but have 6 neices that i helped take care of and that's what my sisters did.

He's decided that he prefers breastmilk over formula, and so only wants breastmilk. There's nothing wrong with that, but if you want to give him a bottle, give him pumped breastmilk.
