Congrats! I received the SSN cards for each of mine 2 weeks after they were born. It doesn't take the whole 17 weeks the paper says. It shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks according to my friends' babies and mine.

You can't get a reliable answer because it varies from state to state. In my state, Louisiana, it takes 4-6 MONTHS. No i'm not kidding, and I had my twin girls July 30, 2007 and thats the info that had on the birth letter. Just use the birth letter if you need to provide verification for something, they shouldn't expect a social security number from a new born this early anyway.

Congratulations. This is an exciting time in your life.
Is the baby going to work now? There is no rush. It depends on how busy the Social Security Administration is now. I would say that you should get her SS number within two or three months from the date of application.

Well I recieved mine about a month after. Sometimes it may take a little longer, but I would go with anywhere from 3-6 weeks. If longer than that, contact your social security administration!

specific, it is criminal - they are entitled to repayment if she gets double paid by way of somebody else. they had to deliver her the examine, up front - that's what the coverage stated they might do. So now, it is as much as her, to pay the "double pay" portion of social risk-free practices, to the LTD organization. it is enforced, basically like numerous different debt - they pass to courtroom, get a judgement, at last can connect her checking account or placed a lein on her living house. they are able to additionally subtract that quantity from any destiny LTD money, till it is paid (in specific circumstances the income from LTD is better than the income from SSDI, and he or she'd be entitled to 2 month-to-month money - the completed quantity of ssdi, and the adaptation between the SSDI and the LTD charge).
