Doctor called today to say that the results from the hour test were high and that I need to come in for the three hour test. From my reading- 85% of the women who come in for the second test don't have gd. What are your opinions? How was the second test? What is a crab load and should I do it if the doctor didn't suggest it?

I am having the second test done. Just wondering what others thought about the process and all. Thanks.

Sorry there is a typo-carb load

here is the info i was referring too.

Generally speaking, the woman is supposed to "carbo-load" for several days before a GTT. This apparently stimulates her body to produce more insulin and be more prepared for the overload of the 100g test. However, many doctors do not instruct their patients on this at all, and some even forget to tell the patient to fast ahead of time. In addition, even those who tell their patients to carbo-load do not give consistent advice. Some give a specific diet to follow, specifying exactly how many extra carbs to eat and when (usually >150g--10 servings or more--of carbs per day; remember that carbs in this case includes all starches, fruits, sweets, and dairy products). On the other hand, other doctors just tell the woman to eat a few extra servings of carbs 1-2 days before the test. Be sure to press your doctor for more details on this and question your care closely if the doctor seems careless in attitude.

I had to go in for the second test (the 3 hour glucose) because I failed the first one miserably! You will be poked 4 times... Once when you first go in after your 12 hour fast, once every hour after you drink the glucose. You only have to pass 2 of the 4! I passed the 3 hour and my doctor told me that only 6% of pregnancy's actually wind up insulin dependent gestational diabetic. So, go ahead and take it, most pass the 2nd one!
Very Best Wishes!

Most women who take the second test don't actually have GD, but it's definitely worth knowing if you do. I was in the small percentage of women who do test positive for it at the big test. I'm not too bad off with mine and it can be managed by diet. At least I know I did what I could to help keep my baby healthy and at a proper weight.
The test is annoying but isn't really that bad. For mine, they tested my fasting sugar first, and waited for the results to come back before proceeding. Apparently, if your fasting blood sugar is over a certain level, they go ahead and say you have GD without testing. If your fasting levels are acceptable, they make you drink the stuff and test you every hour after that for three hours. They let me leave while I waited for my next blood draw, as long as I came back on time.
I have no clue what a crab load is, but when it comes to the test I'd follow the doctor's suggestions. Just make sure you don't forget to fast!

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I had 137 on my first one hour test so Dr. wanted me to do the 3 hour. My results were normal on the 3 hour and do not have gd. Thank goodness!!! I alread have a two vessel cord! Anyway, the second test sucked, I couldn't leave the lab and had four blood tests, and I hate blood tests. But I'm glad I know for sure I don't have it, so it's worth it to do, in my opinion. At least I know for sure that part of me is normal!

do it. The test kinda sucks, but its important. Yes, you have a 85% chance of not having GD, but if you are in the %15 that has GD then you need to know and manage it, otherwise it can lead to many complications for you and baby, including fetal death. Just do it, ok!
