What ever your daughter chooses it should have meaning for her. I would however choose a not so out of the ordinary middle name there is always the chance your grand-daughter will not like the first name and want to go by the middle name and you will want to be happy with the middle name as well. My nephews name is Serin Ryan and for along time he was called Ryan but Serin grew on all of us and it fits perfectly now.

It would help to know how they plan on pronouncing Gyannah, as I've never seen it before and can't help but want to say "Guy -- as in a man -- Anna," assuming this is supposed to be created spelling of Gaiana. Especially with the obvious resemblance to the ob/GYN gynecological reference so familiar to we pregnant woman. LOL

Judging from another person's reply, I see they've guessed at Gianna (basically), in which case I'd say an Italian middle name would be a lovely match. I'd personally try to find a non-a ending mn, though I know that's a tall order in that case, but not being into the sing-songy ______a _______a repetition, maybe something like:

Gianna Clio
Gianna Dafne/Daphne - love the sound of this, whether she'd go with the Italian spelling or not ;)
Gianna Ines
Gianna Noemi

Either way, I'd definitely consider discussing the more obvious Gaiana or Gianna spellings with your daughter. "Gyannah" just invites misspelling, mispronunciation and general confusion, trust me. It's not worth the headache ... for her OR your granddaughter. ;)

Hope that helps!

I think naming is so personal. My daughter's middle name is Joy, but because my mother's name is Joyce. My sister used her maiden name as a middle name, but it would depend on what that was. I like for the names to have some sort of personal origin, but that is really just my preference! Good Luck!
