Pregnancy & Parenting - 17 February 2007

My son is 3 weeks old and he only wakes up every 4 - 5 hours for feeding. He would eat 3 - 4, 5 oz. He is gaining weight, but I am still curious - shall I wake him up so he would eat more often or it is fine to wait for him to tell me when he is hungry?

i am 14 years old and i have to wake up at 6.15am every morning but even if i go to bed at 9pm i wont fall asleep until about 12 or later and i always wake up in the morning needing more sleep.... i was just wondering if you have any advice on what i shoud do

Last night, I went to the ER with back pain and "cramping". Im 33 weeks and had been feeling like that on and off for a few days. So yesterday, I was so sick, that I finally decided to go. Well when I got there, they hooked me up to the machine, and told me that there were "cramps" showing up...later they told me those were contractions. But, Shouldnt they have checked to see if I had dialated or anything? And they asked me if I had any swelling anywhere, I told them my feet. Shouldnt they have checked that too? They told me I have a UTI, and gave me antibiotics, but didnt really explain anything. What causes a UTI. I've heard that theyre common in late pregnancies, I was just curious as to what causes them. Thanks, sorry It was so long!! any advice will help!

say a woman who has never been with a man her whole life, decides to have a child through artificial insemination. Would she still be considered a virgin after the birth of the child? Me and my friends,some of them females,have debated on this topic, and I quess it's a split decision. Some of us agree that she would still be, while others say she would'nt be. I would appreciate any input on this subject.

i'm 21 years old, and am currently pregnant with my first child. Well, i just found out las week that it a girl ,and all of a sudden i feel panicked like--what am i going to do with a girl!!? i feel like girls are so delicate, like there's a special code that you have to abide by when it comes to raising them properly. Are there any suggestions on discipline ideas,and good ways to teach her to be a lady? any ideas anyone has, any parenting techniques would be very beneficial to me....and appreciated.

So I am ttc and my period is due today. NO period. So I went down and bought a clear blue easy preg test. The digital kind. Is it possible that I am still pregnant but the hormone needed to detect pregnancy is just to low to produce a positive??? Normally my periods are on time and about 31 days apart. I have been tracking them and they have come on time everytime, sometimes a day sooner but never a day later. HELP

The last time we were together was June 18th. The baby was born April 15. She says she was with someone else about a month after we broke up, but she feels that it's probably mine. What are the odds that it is mine? All the conception calculators I have looked at seem to indicate that it is likely the other guys baby. What do you think the chances are that she is right?

For circumcising my newborn son? My friend was over and she was watching me change Aaron's diaper (my son) and she noticed he was circumcised. She didn't put me down or anything, but she said how unnecessary and painful the procedure is and that I shouldn't of done that to him. That I've mutilated a body part of his for life that he can never get back, that sex when he's grown up is better with a foreskin, and on and on. I always heard it was cleaner and guys can get infections if they're not circumcised so I did it to him for those reasons. Plus I didn't want him to feel different around his peers, because hoenstly I saw one back in high school that wasn't and it looked nasty.

Anyway so does this make me a bad mother? What if he grows up to hate me bc I took the choice away from him? Does anyone have experience with this?

I have twin boys who are turning 1 year old on the 21st. My plan was to throw away their bottles after their birthday. A couple people have told me that it's too soon and I should give them a bottle till they turn two. What age were your kids when you stopped giving them bottles? Right now they use sippy cups through out the day and I give them a bottle of milk to go to sleep with.

I've had a few bouts of severe vomiting/diahrea/abdominal pain over the last couple weeks and a general 'just don't feel good' feeling. Not bad enough to go to the ER, but very close. I just found out about the recall and sure enough my jar is included (I'm in TN) and I've eaten PB from it coinciding with the time frame for salmonella to kick in (12-72 hours from eating) I'm @ 33 weeks pregnant now. Yes I'm going to call my doctor, just wondering if anyone else pregnant has had this and what if anything your doc did/said?

How would diaper checks be run in a daycare type of enviroment? Tons of kids, how would you know who made a mess, or if any of them made a mess?

Me and my boyrfriend were having unprotected sex. as he was pulling out he c***med and it got on my vagina, like around the opening. i'm not sure if some got inside me when he went to pull out. and i'm really worried now. what do you think are my chances of getting pregnant are? also do you know how old you have to be to buy that morning after pill (EC)? i really need someones help right now.

Okay, well I am so worried right now. I dont know who to turn to. I was with this guy in early September, and although no sexual intercourse took place, I am worried that he MIGHT have had some precum on his fingers when he fingered me. I got my period 3 days after this incident, and a total of 5 times since then. They are (roughly) on time and each lasted 3-4 days. Gosh....I keep worrying I am still pregnant. I have read about women having periods their entire pregnancy. Could that be me? My parents are so strict, I cannot ask them for help. I rather DIE than hurt them by having them find out about this. Please dont tell me "go get a HPT"...I just cant do that. These past 5-6 months have been a MISERY for me. Not one day goes by when I dont beat myself up over what I did. I do regret this horrible mistake I made, and am having a difficult time moving on.
Usually, I get very painful PMS symptoms, this cycle it's very light. My breasts are a little tender...could I be pregnant?
