I would say burp them until they are close to one. my daughter is 6 mos and she doesn't like being swaddled anymore. most babies will let you know when they don't like being swaddled anymore. they will act irritated and you will just know that they no longer like it

With my daughter who was a micro premature infact she was swaddled for almost 6 months. With my son who was also a premature infant but only by a month I stopped swaddling him when he was a month old. I stopped burping my son when he would hold his own bottle through the entire feed on his own and take the bottle out of his mouth when he was done which was about 7-8 months. However if he takes a bottle while Im holding him and he falls asleep I still find myself tapping him lightly to get a burp.

I don't consider myself and expert, though we have had three babies, but here goes. The burping is pretty easy, when you here them doing on there own you know you don't need to worry about it anymore. With the swaddling we kept doing it till they wouldn't put up with it anymore. When they start getting mobile and have the swaddling off as soon as you can put it on, you know its a lost cause.

That's your own personal choice.....burping a baby is done so you can help their young digesitve system along with expelling gas......they usually are fine after the first few months. Swaddling is for the sense of security.....you should do that as long as your baby needs that extra sense of safety.

you should always burp - at least until they can do it on their own. . . at least until 9 months. Swaddling can end after a couple of months. Your baby will tell you when he/she gets out of the wrap lol.
Good luck and congrats!

till they could burp on their personal without exhibiting soreness. my daughter not in any respect loved being swaddled yet i'd end after some months (at the same time as the child starts attempting to flow round.)
